I Have Learned To Love Me
In response to Dancing Elephants prompt 21 of 52

It has taken me a very long time
To be able to say I love myself. Saying those words evokes emotion in me. I want to cry for the little girl, teenager, and woman lost for so long. Again, when I think I am fully healed, feelings stir within me.
Tears have been shed for the old me as I release her to the past. She had a long painful way to go on her path. Today I understand what it is to be spiritually reborn; I love her so much.
I wanted to write this prompt. It is good to remind ourselves of love for self.
Thank you to Vidya Sury, Collecting Smiles for the inspiring prompt.
Over the years, I have met many women with little self-worth; some will not even look at themselves in the mirror. My work was in the beauty industry; I enjoyed supporting women to look and feel good.
Here is my list of 10 things I genuinely love about myself
- I have a knack for supporting others to open up and reveal themselves to me.
- I am connected to the divine and most honoured to be.
- I see God in everything including myself.
- I love that I am able to enjoy my own company.
- My absolute love for nature and animals.
- Children naturally gravitate towards me.
- The relationship I have cultivated with my husband and two children.
- I love that I can see the wonder and magic in the world.
- I push myself outside of my comfort zones for growth.
- For a bit of humour.. I love my bum, it’s like bread dough.
I really enjoyed reading this piece below by Art Bram. Medium is such a wonderful community to discover like minds, support and friendship. Thank you all..
