I Have Etsy Coaching Clients Making $100k per Month. Here’s What They Know That You Don’t.

Big sales tactics don’t look anything like you think they do…

Today, I’m here to spill the tea.

I have multiple $100k/month online sellers in my coaching arsenal.

And I figured you might wanna know what they’re doing that you’re not…

Being in the top online seller fight club like…

So let’s break the first rule of fight club and see what skeletons these tip top sellers have in their closet…

#1 — They start with ONE product.

You walk into a boutique at your local market and what do you see??

OPTIONS. Tons of products, colors, and packaging — there’s so many places to look!

WHY do we all think an online store needs to be the same?

ONLINE and IN-PERSON are two totally different channels.

When I’m talking to coaching clients, these words come out of my mouth DAILY:

“Even Amazon started with books.”

And it’s this ⬆️ little gem that tells you everything you need to know about selling online.

People have OPTIONS when they shop online.

So FOCUS on one particular product type…

And offer buyers something they CANNOT get anywhere else.

If you have 50 totally different products…how are you gonna give each one a unique selling proposition??

Seems like a lot of brain-ing to me 🧠 😰

Do you know how LONG it would take you to differentiate 50 different products?!?

What happens when you don’t focus ⬆️

Bottom Line:

Every *single last one* of my top-sellers is HYPER-FOCUSED on making one type of product unique.

It’s WAY easier to hone a single product category.

Meanwhile, everyone else is trying to be the next Amazon (lol, good luck).

This tactic works for top sellers because it KEEPS THEM AHEAD of the competition…All while they become KNOWN for doing one thing.

#2 — They think in terms of BENEFIT to the customer, not “how much money will this make me?”

99% of us go into this to make money online. DUH.

Why would you put in all this energy if it doesn’t PAY you?? ⬇️

Your customers care about THEMSELVES. Not your bank account.

“I wanna make money” will only get you so far.

Customers aren’t stupid. They can tell when you’re just uploading products to make money.

When I shop for a product online, all I care about is these three things:

🤔 What will it do for me? 🤔 Why should I buy from this person? 🤔 Is there any reason I need to buy NOW or can I wait?

Translation: EVERYONE ON THE INTERNET WANTS MY MONEY. Why should I give it to you??!?

I’m not thinking *for one single second* about YOUR bank account.

💣 Brutal Honesty Bomb: Customers don’t care about your problems, or why you’re online.

The key to making big-girl pants sales is THINKING LIKE YOUR CUSTOMER.

And when you can only think about your bank account, you’re *NOT* thinking like your customer.

Bottom Line:

All that matters to your customer is WHAT your product will do for them.

This thought should take up 80% of your day.

If you’re only thinking about your bank account, that’s gonna reflect in everything you do.

Spend your time blowing customers’ expectations out of the water.

You don’t get to $100k per month with a run-of-the-mill product.

Spend your time showing off what your product can do — and make sure everyone knows why you’re different. (Customers don’t know everything about your product. You have to TELL THEM!)

Here’s a simple example of how a big seller does this ⬇️

Comparison graphic from Purely Elizabeth Granola

To start, it can be this simple ⬆️.

But the more BENEFITS you create for your customer, the more you need to show them off.

#3 — Their success was totally unexpected

None of my $100k/mo clients ever imagined they’d get this far.

But I’ll tell you who DOESN’T get to 100k…

When I have a client who says, “my competitor is making half a million per year. So that’s what I want to make…”

They always fail.

Wait — what?!? What’s that about?

Turns out, it’s a mindset thing.

If you come in thinking you DESERVE money just for doing something that already exists online…You’re already destined to fail.

This one really ties into #2 — there’s no inherent benefit to ANOTHER store selling [your product here].

And, like, I just gotta say… REALITY CHECK:

You don’t *DESERVE* to make money for anything unless you give other people VALUE.

“Working hard” doesn’t make any difference.

Creating VALUE is the only thing that matters.

Top sellers don’t come into this process like, “I’m gonna make absurd money”.

They come in like “What do people need that isn’t quite right? How can I make it better?

This is what we call THINKING BIG. And it doesn’t come easily to most people.

Most of us are busy overanalyzing the crap out of every little detail…

My brain be like: why yes, I will have another cup…

We’re too busy freaking out to think big.

So, how do you switch over to thinking big??

I said it once, and I’ll say it again–

80% of your time needs to be spent thinking about benefits for your customer and how you can improve their lives.

Bottom Line:

You don’t DESERVE money just for existing online.

Create legit VALUE for your customers, or expect to stay small forever.

#4 — They’re DEAD serious about an email list.

I gotta throw a tactic in here, because success so clearly requires certain things to be in place.

And one of those things is an email list.

😧 I know you don’t know what to say to customers. 😧 I know you’re overwhelmed with an idea of an email list. 😧 I know you’re not sure where to start.

Guess what?? Those $100k sellers felt the exact same way at some point.

They figured it out anyway.

It’s time for you to do the same.

If you’re reading this article, and you’re serious about your shop, it’s time to hear the one thing no one ever wants to hear:

(And it’s time to REALLY LISTEN this time, tho…)

This is hard for all of us. Running a business requires some work you won’t want to do, and that’s never going to change.

Businesses take work!! If they didn’t, we’d all have one and we’d all be rich.

Newsflash: It’s gonna be hard. At times, it will make you very uncomfortable. That’s normal, and we all go through it.

But discomfort is just a feeling in your body. It’s not poison and it won’t kill you.

You have incredible options for solving every problem you come across. In fact, you have access to MORE help than ANY other business owner in history…

You have google. You have youtube. You have chat gpt. You have access to the internet, which has 1000+ people who have figured this out already.

USE THEM!!!

Hey, how about you fix that in one click tho??

There’s no excuse for NOT moving your business forward.

But just for fun, here are the excuses I hear daily:

😑 I’m bad at tech 😑 I don’t want to start an email list until I’m ready 😑 I’m not a very good writer

Guess what? Every single big seller had those exact same issues.

One of my top sellers has such extreme dyslexia that his girlfriend writes everything for him. To top that off, English isn’t his first language.

He has never complained or used it as an excuse.

They figured out the hard bits. All top sellers do.

So: what are you making excuses about?

Because there’s always a work-around.

Bottom Line:

If you want to grow your business, there’s no excuse for skipping necessary steps.

Figure it out or just stop now.

Seriously, you have the internet. Problems are easier to solve than they ever have been IN ALL OF HISTORY.

Get to it!

#5 — They’re too busy to use ALL the social media. They pick one and COMMIT.

Most of my top sellers started on every social media network under the sun.

This is pretty normal. Everyone thinks it’s “required” to run a business.

But the difference between top sellers and everyone else?

Somewhere down the line, they realize it’s IMPOSSIBLE to be good at every network.

Your new strategy: If you don’t have time for it, you shouldn’t be on it.

So instead of wasting HOURS per day (making posts that get 3 views)… They picked the network they liked best, and got HELLA good at it.

Because when it comes to organic traffic, you need to stick out from ZILLIONS of other posts.

And you can’t be 100% on, fully your best self, if you have to run 20 different social media networks… WHILE also running your business.

Top sellers understand that *TIME* is the most valuable asset they have.

And if they can get BIG results from one social network, then there’s no point in wasting valuable time anywhere else.

👉 There will always be a new, exciting social network. 👉 There will always be successful people that make it look tempting.

But you should plan for (a MINIMUM of) 6 months to become GREAT at a new social network.

Oh, and you should also plan to spend AT LEAST $500–1000 on the process.

Yeah…seriously.

Do you have 6 months to figure something out…Spend money on it…Then do it all over again for another network??

…See why these big sellers just stick with one?

Bottom Line:

Stop trying to be everywhere. How as that paid off for you so far??

Get serious and get focused. That means one network.

Tell the rest to GTFO… and get your life back!

#6 — They are constantly learning and improving

Have you ever followed like…every million and billion dollar entrepreneur on Insta???

No? Just me…?

One thing you’ll notice if you fall down the filthy-rich entrepreneur rabbit hole is this:

😮 They’re ALWAYS ranting about the latest book… 😮 They’re ALWAYS quoting things they learned… 😮 And they ALWAYS seem to be devouring MORE information…

And this is what sets them apart…

They KNOW they don’t know everything. They adopt a mantra of life-long learning.

No one knows it all. If you have an area in your life where you feel holier-than-thou, like you’re vastly overqualified — I have news for you:

You’re ACTUALLY here ⬇️

The **REAL REASON** why the rest of us get stuck at income plateaus ⬆️

So now that we’re on the same page about knowing nothing…

Back to my gazillion-aires and their beloved books:

While the rest of us are sitting around like, “I’m too busy and overwhelmed to learn more…”

Learning for top performers is NOT OPTIONAL — and they don’t treat it like a burden.

They have FUN, read books they enjoy, and get really into implementing one new thing from each book.

You might be like, “but I hate reading tho…”

And to you, I say: You’re missing the point.

Learning doesn’t just mean books.

Although, I will say, it’s interesting how much millionaires rely on INEXPENSIVE learning (aka books).

But my whole point is this:

Pick a MEDIA FORMAT that works for you, and start devouring the sh*t out of it…

Podcasts, workshops, webinars, mentoring, books, youtube, medium…

If you LIKE it, you’ll actually do it.

And bottom line:

Top sellers know that the online world is constantly evolving. And it’s never gonna stop.

Instead of trying to “keep up” with the joneses (which feels overwhelming af)…

Top sellers just keep themselves in a state of PERPETUAL learning.

They read (or watch) their way to learning one new thing every week.

And that’s all it *ACTUALLY* takes to stay ahead.
