I Have a Floor…Sort Of
The never-ending saga
I’ve mentioned my difficulties repairing my kitchen.
The guys installed the floor yesterday. It looked gorgeous!
The keyword is “looked”. When I stepped on it, the floor seemed a little uncertain of itself. As I moved further into the center of the room, it was like walking through a bouncy castle.
With every step, the floor slapped against the concrete below. In some spots, it caused all the nearby floorboards to bounce as well.
The general contractor agreed, “That’s not right.” The subcontractor explained we bought thick flooring, and the concrete is cold, so it needs to warm up to become flexible.
We’re leaving the remodel as is for 10 days. Will it settle, or must he pull it up and install some sort of padding? The jury’s still out.
Maybe I’ll have my kitchen back by August?
