I Gave the Delivery Man a Reward Better Than Cash
Let your imagination work
Imagine that you are a food delivery person, you are working on a beautiful rainy night, you receive a delivery order to a random apartment at 8:19 pm and you go to do your job, but when you get there you are greeted by a woman in pajamas who liked you at first glance and who now invited you to enter her house and offer you a reward for your hard day of service — That’s basically what happened between me and my current boyfriend.
The way I said it, it actually seemed much weirder than it is. Well, I admit, it wasn’t normal — But I’m going to explain everything that happened to get us to this point.
First I need to say that I always order snacks on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights. These are the only days of the week that I don’t make anything to eat at home.
We can say that these are the only days that I just want to enjoy while watching a cliché movie or while scrolling up and down on social media.
Normally I always order snacks from the same establishment, because I know the owners, the food is good and it’s very close to home. However, on one of those days when I decided to order a snack from the same establishment as usual, the owners said they wouldn’t be open for the next two weeks as they didn’t have a delivery person. I understood and ordered elsewhere.
Two weeks later they reopened. I was really happy because their snacks were the best. I got ready, placed my order and a few minutes later I was surprised by the cutest delivery man I’ve ever seen in my life — I received my order, he left and I was left with it in my head.
Very curious, I sent a message to the restaurant and asked the owner who the guy was who had come to deliver my order. She asked if he had done something wrong and I replied no, that I had just sent a message to praise his behavior and know his name (in reality I just wanted his name, but I couldn’t say it)
It was then that she revealed to me that this was her youngest son.
I exploded in many ways when she said that. I was embarrassed, excited, excited, happy, and even more curious about the boy. For the next 7 weeks, I was anxious for Friday to arrive so I could order my snack and see the establishment’s delivery person once again.
It was literally love at first sight (on my part at least)
During these seven weeks, I was trying to find out more about him, we had a few conversations when he was delivering my orders, but over time we started to develop more. Until in the fourth week, he arrived to deliver an order and commented: “You really like lasagna, don’t you? Try trying our stuffed dough next time”
It was an advance. We weren’t talking about the weather or the things that were on television anymore. It was there that I started making small attacks until finally in the seventh week I surprised him with an unexpected invitation — I opened the door to my apartment dressed in pajamas (very sexy) and invited him in.
Luckily for me, it was almost the end of his shift and he accepted my invitation to come in. Then you must be saying: “Wow, what a show-off woman!” Why? Do you think I really attacked him as soon as he walked in? I’m not crazy, lol.
I really dressed like that to spark his imagination, but I wasn’t going to go at him that night. I just invited him to come in and enjoy the pizza I had purchased. I said something like: “Why don’t you come in and eat this pizza with me? Eating all this alone is a bit lonely.” He accepted and from there, we really started to “make progress” in our future relationship.
It was that day that I picked up his phone number, that was the day that he started to notice me more (he said so), that was the day that we had a good laugh while eating pizza and that was the day that I understood why he is working as a delivery boy at his parents’ diner.
In fact, he was on vacation from college and as his parents needed a delivery man, he volunteered to help while he was here. Today he is 27 years old and in his final year of Computer Science. We met when he was 25, and we’ve been together since he was 26.
In short, after I became interested in him and started doing everything possible and impossible to get to know each other better with a focus on something more than friendship, it took about a year and a few months for him to finally give in to me and we started dating.
In fact, we didn’t do anything “silly” before the third meeting. I’m not that easy, lol.
Thank you for reading this far. Kisses and until next time!
