I Carry My Head in My Purse and How To Use Them

Not literally, of course. I have so many notebooks I am writing my ideas in.

My thoughts and so on. As a kid, I remembered every little detail. I still do, but I don’t remember every thought I have. Or at least, I am afraid I will lose my thoughts. In the last few years, I am afraid of losing a lot, I don’t what and I don’t know why. Do I want to think about it more, maybe?!

Anxiety

There is some anxiety coming up when I think about this idea. So, I write every idea in my notebook to remember what I thought and why, or my ideas to write on Medium, Substack or elsewhere. Then I look at it if I want to use this idea turning it into an article.

“It helps clear your mind.”, — my therapists.

Probably it is true what they told me. I want to write everything in these notebooks. I love notebooks, to be honest.

In these years I have developed how to use my notebooks. I read a lot about how to use notebooks. But this is how it works for me.

How to use notebooks:

  1. Choose a lovely notebook you will use until there is no room in it anymore. Take one with lines if that works for you or when empty pages work for you, choose those.
  2. Buy a few pencils and pens to write with. I prefer colored fine liners as well as ballpoint pens — both black and blue.
  3. Write on the first page — probably empty — your name and for which goal you use it. Like I gave a notebook for Medium, but I also have notebooks for Patreon (I will use soon) and Substack.
  4. On the very first writing page, you write the D/M/Y. And ‘press enter’ — next line.
  5. Use a sentence that comes into your mind. If you want to use it, put a star in front of the sentence before the blue line and let it stay there.
  6. Go to the next line and put a sentence where you came up with, like point 5.
  7. When you think to add more information about the article/thought, than use a stripe under the sentence after the blue line to add another sentence or information about what you want to remember.

Then there is the moment you have to plan all things into your planner. But the thing with me is that I am very good at planning everything, but keeping at what I have planned isn’t my thing. This is one of my goals for this school season.
