I broke even after 2 weeks on Meduim. $5 Membership Cost, Still Exceeds 0.60¢

I began writing on Medium just two weeks ago. I joined the Medium Partner Program on December 26th (after the trial week).

And now, here I am, two weeks later, earning $5.60.

Real profit?

Only $0.60, considering the membership cost me $5 (I’m not rich at this point).

Today (January 5th) still remains significant because all the money I earn until January 26th will be profit. That’s actual money I’ll have by month’s end.

How did I start?

I’m in the process of writing a book.

I’ve been at it for almost six months and became frustrated with this non-profitable writing.

Seeking ways to publish e-books and generate income while working on my primary project — a physical book.

Initially, I stumbled upon an article on selling digital books and courses on Gumroad.

I chose to share my sales experience and began researching what content people were creating on Gumroad and how they promoted their work.

This was the moment I encountered someone promoting their e-books on Medium.

That’s how I discovered Medium.

After exploring this platform for a week, I decided to give it a try!

And on December 26th, I joined the Medium Partner Program. My first week on Medium was tough… I wrote only three articles and received nearly 0 views (2 actually), along with only a few claps from people who simply wanted attention and hoped I would read their stories.

Then, I made a decision to be consistent. I wrote six articles in six days, and that’s when my stats began to improve.

However, I didn’t just publish and wait. I actively read other people’s articles and found inspiration for my own.

Don’t hesitate to take a look and draw inspiration from others. I know it might seem daunting in a world where nearly everyone can be accused of plagiarism. But finding inspiration from a story title or format is nothing to be ashamed of.

Personally, I read numerous stories and found inspiration.

Now, I’m surpassing the $5 mark.

You might say: “That’s not impressive.”

Maybe?

But I’ve observed individuals making over three figures a month, surpassing the $5 mark in a span of more than a month. Hence, to me, that’s an achievement.

My new goal?

Achieve $1 a day.

And my advice to you — if you wish to succeed: never give up. Keep working, and your sweat and tears won’t be wasted.

Thanks For Reading till the end.

I hope to receive your feedback soon. I understand there are numerous areas where I can improve, but I encourage you to check out my other works as well.

See you in my other stories!

Daniel.
