I am a lazy procrastinator.
Yesterday, I read Oliver Lövström’s story about learning the names of your Followers one by one, a sentiment I can stand behind. Understanding your audience is necessary to provide value to them.
Oliver is noting down every single name of his 505 followers.
I’m too lazy (and busy) to write down so many names, so I came up with a better idea.
I asked ChatGPT to analyze my followers for me.
To learn who my followers are and what they find most valuable, I used AI to summarize their account info.
You can try this too — I will take you through the process step-by-step.
1. Open your Profile page and click on your Followers.
- On your Followers page, hold down your mouse and select the first 30–50 followers.
- Copy the text and leave this window open.

2. Go to ChatGPT and start a new chat.
This is the prompt I used:
Hey chat! I am going to supply you with the profile descriptions of my followers on Medium.com. I want you to analyze their info, and try to provide demographics about my audience, as well as find their common interests and what they find most valuable. I will give you the information in 10 segments, please wait for all the information before you start analyzing.
Before you paste the first text you copied, write this:
Part 1/10
Paste your text and hit enter.
You should get a message like this:

3. Repeat the process as many times as you can.
The bigger the data, the better the results.
Go back to your Followers page and copy the next 30–50 profiles.
Remember to include Part 2/10 before pasting the text.
This will instruct ChatGPT to await further input before starting its analysis.
Before pasting your last entries, you should get a message like this:

The Results
The whole process took less than 10 minutes.
This is what ChatGPT came up with:

Those are valuable insights. But why stop there?
Further Use of This Data
Knowing your audience is crucial.
This was a fun experiment, using AI to analyze my followers.
Let’s push the idea even further!
Let’s ask ChatGPT to help us create content using this data.
I used the following prompt:
Amazing job chat. Can you please create a guide for what type of content would work best for my audience, including 10 ideas about articles to write that would echo well with their common interests and values?
The answer was this:
