Starting earlier on Medium gave me a great advantage

I am earning money on Medium without applying for the partner program and without completing 100 followers. But unfortunately, if you are thinking about starting, you cannot do it now.

I was so lucky to join Medium in July of 2020 when there were no requirements for the partner program. But now, you have to achieve 100 followers and at least a story published to apply for the partner program.

Gaining 100 followers is not hard. Even I have achieved my 100 followers mark today, after two months of consistent writing. But the tricky thing is, when you become eligible for the partner program, you have to write an application for it, which is the real struggle.

I have not seen anyone on Medium talking about their rejection from the partner program because no one wants to share their rejection story. But I have seen many writers in Medium Facebook groups posting about their rejection from the partner program while asking for help.

After that, I realized that I was so lucky to start earlier on the platform when there were no requirements for the partner program. Achieving 100 followers is not hard, but the real struggle is the decision of Medium’s team on your application because it depends upon their mood.
