I added $2,400/month to my side hustle income
I started putting this plan into the works several weeks back. I started doing this new thing and it started earning me a real income, on the side.
It was perfect timing because my Medium income was declining.
My fickle Newsbreak income was going up and down month after month, I had this new income stream come save the day.
This is what I did, how much I’m making now and plans for the future!
My plan to add $4K a month to my side hustle income
Adding an extra $4k a month to your income sounds amazing and in perfect timing for the holidays!
What’s the side hustle?
I’m doing high-ticket affiliate marketing.
I talked about it here a bit…
Here’s a quick step-by-step of what I’m doing…
- Find high-paying affiliate products
- Do content marketing to promote those products
- Tracking my results
Finding the right affiliates to promote
The key to finding the best high-paying affiliate products is:
- Finding low-competition affiliate programs
- Making sure you can rank for low-competition keywords to promote those products
You absolutely want to steer clear of the affiliate products mentioned in those “high-paying affiliate program” articles.
I used to write those articles!
It’s not that what they’re writing is false, necessarily.
Sure, Bluehost can pay $80 or so per signup and yes, ConvertKit is a great recurring affiliate program that can make you money passively but, everybody is already promoting those!
The competition is stiff!
Instead, find the high ticket offers that aren’t as competitive. I see these as newer affiliate products and/or very niche markets.
For example, Jasper Art is a new affiliate product.

It just came out, like within the past several weeks, I think.
This is just one example, there are plenty others.
I look at Angel.co which is a startup company job board. This is the perfect place to find newer companies that are promoting their products with affiliates.
Once I find the products I want to promote as an affiliate, it’s time to do content marketing.
Getting started with content marketing
This is about using content to market stuff through activities like writing blog posts and articles.
Here is Google’s definition:

You can do this with tried and true strategies like creating “Best of XYZ” or “Product A vs. Product B” style of blog posts.
You can also think outside the box and write content that doesn’t feel promotional and may encourage more affiliate sales.
These are just some examples.
Tracking the results
This is the most fun part of the process, I think.
It’s about checking in on your progress to see how your hard work is paying off. You can do this as often as you’d like but, be consistent with it. This little activity can really hold you accountable.
Proof that I practice what I preach
Some of my affiliate commissions from one high ticket program I promote…

And, my dashboard showing earnings paid and earnings to come…

Onto you!
