Summary

The "Humans Are Stories" publication is refining its focus to exclusively feature Poetry and Shortform content, introducing new poetry and quote prompts, and potentially launching a separate publication for self/mental health/life stories, effective December 01, 2021.

Abstract

The editor of "Humans Are Stories" has announced a significant evolution of the Medium publication, deciding to narrow its scope to only Poetry and Shortform pieces. This change, which took effect on December 01, 2021, is driven by the editor's passion for poetry and a recent appreciation for the impact of Shortform stories. The publication will continue to adhere to its submission guidelines and 24-hour publishing guarantee. Additionally, the editor will initiate poetry prompts, quote prompts, and monthly challenges with prizes to engage readers and writers. While the existing stories will remain under a different category, there is a possibility of creating another publication to cater to self/mental health/life stories if time allows. The editor also invites readers to subscribe to their posts via email and encourages support through Medium membership, offering a referral link for sign-ups.

Humans Are Stories Is Evolving

I would like to thank the contributing writers to the publication, and all the readers who shower their love on Humans Are Stories. This publication is like a living organism because stories from many people live here. They breathe into the consciousness of the readers.

As other living organisms do, it is time for Humans Are Stories to evolve as well. There are a couple of changes starting December 01, 2021.

1. I am niching down this publication to only Poetry and Shortform.

This was not an easy decision to make. After pondering about it for quite a while, it made sense that this publication should stand out rather than try to be everywhere.

Also, I want Poetry and Shortform to become mainstream on Medium, and this is my 2 cents towards the cause.

There is no change in submission guidelines or 24 hour publishing guarantee. It still holds.

The primary reason for this is that poetry is the love of my life, and I realized the power of Shortform stories a little while ago. I talk about it in detail here.

2. I will be starting poetry prompts and quote prompts starting tomorrow, along with monthly challenges with prizes.

I hope to see you participate in those prompts.

You can find all the submission guidelines in the original guideline below.

There is a possibility that I might start another publication if time permits to accommodate the future self/mental health/life stories.

NOTE: All the existing stories will still exist on the publication under a different category. If any writer wants to remove it from the publication, they are free to do so.
