How you don’t have to write any medium articles next summer and still be able to publish every day

Did you sit in front of your computer every day last summer and write articles for Medium? Wouldn’t you instead have gone swimming or had time for a new project? Next summer, you can have that if you use this winter and spring wisely.

I remember days when the sun was shining outside, and I was sitting in the living room writing new articles. To be successful on Medium, you have to publish at least one article every day. So I had to leave the beautiful weather unused and became paler and paler because I hardly ever got into the sun.

I don’t want that next summer. I thought about how I could have at least two free months without my medium business suffering from it.

Of course, I don’t just want to lie in the sun all day. For months I have been playing with the idea of producing music. I play guitar, but I have no idea how to record my music so that it sounds good.

I need time to learn that. A summer without work for Medium would be suitable for that.

So I sat down and did some math.

Here comes the result that can also give you a free summer 2020.

Write two instead of one article per day

If you want to publish an article every day in summer, you have to start writing two articles every day now.

If you start in December, by the end of May 2020, you will have enough articles in stock that you won’t have to write a new one until August 16th.

So you would be free from June 1st to August 15th.

If you write two articles every day until the end of June, you can even take a holiday from July 1st to September 27th.

Which variant you choose depends on your taste.

And the great thing about it is that you don’t even have to write on weekends to achieve this. I’ve already calculated them out.

Schedule function

Probably you are already using the Schedule function of Medium.

When you have finished an article, you can either click “Publish” or “schedule for later.” If you click on the latter, you can specify exactly when your essay should go online.

In this way, you can also date all surplus articles produced until the summer to the days when you want to take a holiday from Medium.

So if you start writing two instead of one article per weekday on December 1st, you can take more than two months off in summer.

You only have to promote your articles in summer, of course. Unfortunately, this cannot be automated yet.

In any case, I intend to put this plan into practice, because next summer, I want to be freer and more flexible than last summer.

Maybe this idea suits you, too. A free summer doesn’t sound bad at all, does it?
