How to Write for The Philosophy Hub — Hints and Guidelines
Let the world know from which lens you see it through

Hello there!
Glad to have you here.
The Philosophy Hub is a brand new publication that aims to give readers insights into everything inside philosophy.
Please note that this could include:
- Psychology
- Spirituality
- Politics
- Religion and Theology
- Natural Sciences
- Life Lessons
Those are broad subjects, so don’t be shy or insecure about submitting your article. You are welcome. Just make sure to input some critical thinking: philosophize on it.
A few things that you should know:
Despite being a “young” publication, we are going to the long run and take things seriously. On that note, The Philosophy Hub will only publish “Members Only” articles. The publication will do this to increase the visibility of your article as Medium can curate and disseminate it throughout the platform. To confirm that your article is members only and eligible for distribution by Medium, make sure you tick this box right before submitting it to The Philosophy Hub:

If you would like to get published on our Medium publication, you’ll need to:
- Set up a Medium account, where you’ll get your own username.
- Write a story you would like to publish with us, and save it as a draft.
- Fill this form
From there, we will review your article within 5 working days. If the guidelines are followed, and the article has value, we will add you as a writer. When we do this, you can submit your story to us for a copy-edit/proof.
To do so, click the three dots in the top right-hand corner > add to publication > and select The Philosophy Hub.
Once added, I will review it in 5 to 7 working days and inform you if your work will be published.
Summing up: there is a minimum of 2 reviews and a minimum of 10 days for your story to be published. Credits will go to you in accordance with Medium’s guidelines.
Reviews and edits can take a little while. We ask you to be patient and bear with us while working towards your submission.
Once you are accepted as a writer, you can submit your work directly to us.
Now, let’s go to The Philosophy Hub guidelines:
Guidelines
We value Philosophy. But we also want the information and ideas to be accessible to the non-expert public. Therefore, there are short 11 rules you can apply during your writing so you can submit to us:
1- You can tell a nice, personal story, but it should have philosophical concepts within it.
2- Try to expose your idea in a clear manner. You don’t need to be extremely rigid in your writing. You can be friendly and even write in the first person. Try to facilitate hard concepts. Explain them in a simple way and always concatenate your arguments.
3- You can make it personal, but we also value facts. If you make an argument, sustain it within a philosophical or conceptual frame. You can be biased. We all are. Just make sure to sustain your idea. You should reference them as a link along with your text (embedded). You can link the article page with the data you just cited.
4- If you use figures, reference them right below with the proper credits. Be sure you are allowed to use them.
5- Original pictures and original visual data are appreciated.
6- Connect your thought or argument to the bigger picture of your article (article title).
7- Don’t write about what you did not research or what you do not know anything about.
8- Correctly capitalize the words in your Title.
9- Use at least one of the hashtags on:
- Philosophy
- Psychology
- Spirituality
- Politics
- Religion and Theology
- Natural Sciences
- Life Lessons
10- Be sure to have an article length of 5 to 10 minutes. Depending on the subject, we can accept a 4 minutes article.
11- Revise your article before submission.
On specifics of formatting and structure, please check here.
Last but not least, if you publish with us, please engage with other people’s articles and share other stories.
Editorial Support:
The publication will offer you free editorial support in the form of reviews/proofs, necessary copy-edits before being published, recommendations for improvement, and advice where necessary. This is made so you can be published here.
That said, I will run the publication alongside my standard day job. This is beginning as a one-man project, and… we are humans. Therefore, if your piece contains errors you could correct yourself, I will either reject it or ask you to make the changes. Please, revise your article before submission to save everybody’s time.
Some last remarks:
As we are brand new, we are accepting published articles.
But this will change in the future.
And,
Do not remove your article after publishing it:
When you publish with us, you are committing to keeping it published on our page. Removing it without reaching us first is a direct violation, and you will be removed as a contributor, and all future articles will be rejected.
Last words:
We are independent. For this reason, we ask that you remain patient and bear with us.
With that said, I wish you good writing and enlightened thinking!
welcome you onboard,
Tiago Belé
