How to Write for The Ace Space
A simple guide to formatting and content
So you’ve decided you might want to write for The Ace Space! Hello and welcome. I have just a few guidelines for writing here. If you’ve been on Medium for a while there’s a strong chance you know what is expected.
Formatting
I’m going to keep it simple.
- Headlines should be in bold (as above)
- A second line should be set to subheading (as above)
- A brief introductory paragraph (as above)
- An image (as above). This must have attribution. It’s handy to use Unsplash because when embedding into Medium, the attribution appears. If it is your own work, please indicate this instead
- There is no minimum or maximum length though if it’s a hefty piece (anything over about 2,500), please consider whether it might be better split into two separate pieces. We will not reject longer pieces though
Sorry, but no fiction for the time being
At present, the publication won’t be taking fiction. As it’s just me (Matt Mason), I am concerned about spending too much time reading multiple short stories and chapters in the three- or four-thousand-word range. So for now, non-fiction and short poetry.
No AI
Goes without saying. Any detected AI in your articles will not just result in the rejection of your article, but removal from the publication. You have been warned.
