Hello, I am Matt, a 40-something demisexual and the founder of The Ace Space.

I came out in September 2022 and like many people going through any life change under the LGBTQIA+ umbrella, it felt like a huge weight lifted off my shoulders.

The LGBTQIA+ community has a great presence on Medium. But there seems to be very little active presence for aspec people.

So I decided to start one.

This publication is for anyone who identifies as aspec. This includes asexuals, grey aces, demisexuals, aromantics, demiromantics and any other label or microlabel within this sphere.

Welcome! I want this to be a safe space for everyone and so there are a few (yet necessary) rules.

Be kind, understanding, and respectful of others

We only accept aspec articles here. If there is no ace or aro spectrum content, the article will unfortunately be rejected

Allies are welcome so long as the content is supportive of and centring aspec people

No spam or advertorials presented as genuine articles

No external links to commercial sites (stuff like “hey buy my book!”)
