How to Use Short-Form Content to Skyrocket Your Brand

All the big creators are using these secrets

The world today runs in seconds, not hours or days.

Every second a reader isn’t consuming your work is a second and a penny lost for you.

Every big creator today seems to know that fact. As writing comes naturally to them. And not just from the baggage of experience they have accumulated over the years, but from something else…short-form content creation.

But just because it’s short it doesn’t mean it’s of no use. That’s why It should have a place in every creator's toolkit for success. Remember, size doesn’t matter.

Big ideas don’t have to come from 1000 word books, they can be described just as well in one single sentece.

Introduction

This is for the creative people out there.

The ones who have so many ideas. But such little time to write them in a format suitable for Medium. It only feels right that those ideas come to life. In one form or another.

That’s why short-form content is crucial. It lets you just spit out your idea online, ready to be judged, absorbed, or applauded by your audience.

And the best part?

You can still grow it like a plant. Let it flourish in the comfort of a much longer piece of content, but only the right ones. The ones that have already proven themselves liked by your audience.

Use short-form content as a way to test ideas, gather data, and optimize your writing.

Choose the Right Platforms

When you consider short-form content, you must take into consideration a whole new audience.

What do I mean by that?

The most popular platforms that raised some big celebrities all relied on short-form content at some point. Whether it be the past, present, or even the future.

But you need to keep in mind that each platform has a predominantly different demographic.

Basically, if you are a writer, you don’t have many choices.

There’s Instagram, Tiktok, Snapchat, and Youtube, but all these platforms only take into consideration video formats.

And then, there’s the golden 2:

  • X and LinkedIn.

You can find an audience on X for everything. My favourite is money X, a place where all entrepreneurs gather to discuss ideas, bounce them, and share their opinions while maximizing the exposure of their brands.

LinkedIn on the other hand is more professional. I haven’t tried it yet but I sure do hope to get the chance someday to write there.

Usually, if you are a freelance writer or someone who wants more quality clients, LinkedIn is the perfect place for you.

Creating Engaging Visuals and Copy

We see, we act.

Because of the shorter stories you put out as part of your brand, those little soldiers known as posts need an image.

Using visuals in your posts will not only help hook the reader and make them curious but will also make you stand out amongst the tens of thousands of other creators.

Copy on the other hand is a completely different story.

You can’t afford to ramble about what you ate for breakfast. You need to be clear and concise. And that’s why writing good copy is a key part of succeeding in short-form writing.

But there’s a catch.

Or should I say… A benefit. No, you can’t ramble about any other topic besides the one you promised.

For example, if you are in the writing niche helping others create and post content online for a living then in a post about writing tips and tricks you can’t talk about anything else. Absolutely not.

But the best thing about building your brand through short-form content is the fact that you can make a completely different post talking about yourself, and your persona. Therefore letting people see the person behind the screen.

You gain trust with your audience the more they get yo know you

And there’s more…

Building Community and Loyalty

Modern branding not only asks, but requires leveraging short-form content.

You have more opportunities to:

  • engage with your audience, because more posts = more comments
  • share more concise ideas that might resonate with others
  • build a trusting and healthy relationship between you and your audience through consistent, daily posts.

The fact is… A lot of writers struggle to write on Medium because they feel the need to write a 7-minute article. But for most, this can only be done once per week.

You are losing on 6 days of consistent posting. 6 days where your ideas either gather in a big stockpile or go to waste.

Don’t let your ideas die.

It’s time to write.

Thank you for reading!
