How To Unlock That Secret Treasure Trove Of Unlimited Writing Ideas!
This is a treasure trove that contains emotions, life experiences, and opinions. Figured it out yet?

We are our own treasure trove of ideas. No one has the same life resume as we do. Not even twins. Therefore, we are our best idea spitting machine.
The combination of our emotions, life experience, and opinions make us unique. No one has 100% of what we carry with us. That is why the best unique ideas are extracted from our neurological repository.
We know that our meandering and often arduous journey in life enriches us through the process of reflection and journaling.
From there, we relive our life by thinking it over and over. Sometimes, we wonder what we will do if we have to face them again.
I realized that there are 3 pillars of writing ideas we can extract from our personal treasure trove buried deep in my mind. I will elaborate on them below.
Treasure Trove Pillar 1 — Our Emotions.
I guarantee you that our emotional response towards an event is unique to all of us.
Imagine you are visiting a restaurant where there is a long queue of people waiting to get in. Queues got longer this decade due to social distancing and capped maximum restaurant serving occupancy.
If you are me, you would have walked away because the time required to get that serving of food into my mouth is not worth the wait. Time is money.
However, if you are dating a food connoisseur, she will tell you that it is worth the long wait. And she will articulate how that slice of honey-coated stew pork will melt in your mouth before taking the first bite.
Obviously, she has expectations. You too. Different expectations drive different responses.
You can also write about your frustrations having to wait with the food connoisseur when you want to patronize the restaurant opposite with no customers.
Our emotions are too rich and complex to be deleted from writing. We can produce multiple stories from our daily lives.
Treasure Trove Pillar 2 — Our Life Experience.
No 2 students have the same experience. No 2 working professionals feel the same about their workplace.
I hated my history lecturer when I was in high school. Do not get me wrong. I do not hate history. In fact, I love it. It demonstrates the complexity of human nature.
I did not appreciate my history lecturer because it was all about the short cuts to examination excellence. His lectures and tutorials are all about cheat sheets, key points to memorize, and the right way to regurgitate.
You can imagine his fan base. I am not one of them.
Our life experience is relevant. Too many of us assume that our stories are bland and that others have the same experience.
This is not true.
You can ask your colleague how they feel about their bosses. I am certain they have different feedback.
Treasure Trove Pillar 3 — Our Opinions.
This is simple.
The United States presidential elections 2020 is the best example. It was the talking point of the entire world. There were multiple focal points. There is the pit fight between Donald Trump and Joe Biden, the Republicans and Democrats, to economic response versus social policies.
Every one of us thinks about government operations differently and what the pandemic response should be. A fragmented society demonstrated that there is no one consensus in terms of thinking.
There are at least 2 different schools of thought.
If we can reflect and think about why we support one camp and not support the other, we would get a balanced worldview on the situation at hand, plus 2 stories based upon 2 different opinions.
I guarantee you how you opine about the same issue is uniquely yours.
Everyone else thinks differently. Even your fellow supporter has a different reason to support the same camp.
As I said, we are wildly different.
Unlocking Our Personal Treasure Trove.
There is no need to worry about the lack of ideas. Our mind is great at what it does, containing and spitting out tons of ideas we need for writing.
The important thing is our ability to tap onto this important resource when we need it.
It requires reflection and a consistent daily habit to get efficient at mining our neurological Big Data.
The more we do that, the more efficient we become. That is how we get that proverbial key to unlock our treasure trove of unlimited writing ideas.
