How To Trigger Deep Calm And Relaxation At Your Fingertips
A simple technique to wire in good feelings

Remember Pavlov and his dogs?
Ivan Pavlov was the scientist who conditioned his dogs to salivate at the sound of a bell. Every time he would feed them, he would ring a bell, and over time the dogs with associate the bell with food.
You too are just as programmable as your furry friends — just follow the steps below to program feelings of relaxation and calm in your mind and body.
Relaxation Anchoring Technique
1. Call to mind your favorite place.
Choose any place that makes you feel calm, at peace, and in control, and then recall a time when you were there.
2. Feel how incredible you felt.
Activate all senses: What did you see, hear, smell, etc.? Make the colors brighter and the feelings stronger.
3. Run through the memory multiple times.
Keep reliving the experience until you “capture” the state of being from this memory and feel a sense of inner peace and calm.
4. Anchor in the feelings.
When you feel the good feelings, squeeze your thumb and middle finger together. You are linking this particular gesture and pressure point with this particular memory and emotion.
5. Repeat five times.
Go through this memory at least five more times. Every time you “capture” the good feelings, squeeze your fingers together to further lock them in.
6. Apply to future anxieties.
Think of a situation you typically find stressful. Squeeze your fingers together while imagining things going great. See yourself handling challenges with a smile.
7. Bring in mindfulness.
Become super aware of how good it feels to be calm and in control in this situation that usually causes you stress. Recognize that feeling and keep squeezing!
Tips
Do this once a day to keep training your mind and body to associate this memory with feelings of peace and calm.
Use this “calm button” as needed right before any stressful situation: giving a presentation, a job interview, going on a first date, or just when you’re having a rough day.
You can also use this technique to anchor in success, joy, love, abundance, or any other emotion. Instead, of recalling a memory of feeling relaxed and calm in step 1, think of a memory when you experienced success, joy, abundance, etc.
Experiencing wonderful emotions is literally at your fingertips. It just requires practice.
