How To Stop Wasting Your 1440 Daily Minutes Procrastinating.
Only this small mindset change is allowing me to boost my productivity and finally start achieving my goals, steal it.
Closer or Further
Here’s a secret of life:
The only real difference between you, some person you admire so much, and the person you want to become.
This is how each of them uses every single second of the 24 hours they receive every morning.
The only real difference is how every single decision throughout their day is made.
Read that again, and let it sink.
All the actions made on our day, will either take us closer to our goal, or further away from it, no middle ground in life, about this there is no half-truth.
everything else is just an illusion.
Rich
I see lots of people who have the idea of “Rich” being about the number you have in your bank account, the car you drive, or the phone you hold.
Well, here’s one little advice that I had to learn the hard way for you:
It doesn’t matter how much money you have, you still can’t buy time.
Most people with a lot of money I’ve met don’t think about money because they know they can afford whatever it is.
They think in time and value.
They decide if they want to spend time with that or not, and what is the worth of making that purchase.
If they’ll get quality worth from it or not.
When you have way more than enough to supply your needs and your wants, doesn’t matter what they are,
You start to understand this, once you become able to say “If I want I buy”, you honestly stop caring about most of the things,
and also get away from lots of people as you start to realize most people just care about the money.
You start to enter a car shop and realize that while the amazing super sports car, is still a masterpiece of engineering and art,
it's still just another car.
The big mega 30-room house with pool, tennis court, and soccer field,
will just be a lot of places to clean and costs that probably will bring a decent ROI for the amount of time you will use, and most of the time the house will be so empty that you won’t stand being inside of it.
And everything you to do becomes about exchanging money for time.
Which is the complete opposite of poor people, who normally trade time for money to survive.
The real challenge you face is controlling yourself.
Do not let yourself deviate in every direction, forget about your goals, and fall into every temptation that appears in front of you,
to not let things lose their worth, while you see the price of it.
Once you reach the position in life where you can literally get anything you want with the swipe of a card.
The only challenge is controlling yourself.
And the important thing that most don’t realize,
is that if you can’t organize and control yourself with little money, and very few opportunities,
getting more will just lead to more everything, including more mess and chaos in your life.
People will offer you everything they think you want, more opportunieies because money opens doors, more p*ssy than honest handshakes, and more everything.
And If you can’t reach the point of, rejecting something not because you can’t afford, it but because you don’t need to,
Getting more money is just more trouble, and you’ll probably get lost.
Choices
Think like this:
We are mortals, We are born, We live and We die,
that is the cycle of life of every being in this world doesn’t matter what.
Supposing you didn’t have to worry about going out and working your ass off like a slave to pay some bills, all your needs were paid,
how would you spend the 24 hours of your day? How would you actually live? And not just survive.
If you answer that question by:
“I would buy … whatever”, “I would get this, get that….”, “I would go here, I would go there”
You will never be satisfied and happy, because you’re looking for satisfaction from external sources.
You are putting your mind state on external stuff.
Answering it that way just means you’re not ready for it, still need to do a lot of inner work and learn a lot about yourself,
Especially what you like and enjoy in life.
I had to learn this lesson the hard way.
After a lot of struggle, when I finally achieved my financial goals where my build systems started to make my monthly income cover all my “surviving” bills even if I stayed in bed the entire day,
I Faced myself with the question
“What do you want to do?”,
Not what I had to do, because up to that point, most of my life wasn’t thinking, was just acting and going, pushing forward to make a living in the world,
but what I had forgotten was what I really wanted to do, and what I liked, a long time down the road.
When I reached the point where everything I was fighting so hard to achieve, came to me from day to night.
It took a while to sink in.
I realized most of the things I used to do in my daily routine, were because I had to, not because I wanted to, and I pretty much hated most of it.
I started to go through a mental struggle which I never had before, my struggle wasn’t money anymore.
When my mind went from “I am surviving” to “I am able to live” from day to night, I realized I didn’t know how to live, just to survive.
I in the beginning I honestly couldn’t deal with it, I was so lost in my routine, that I didn’t know what to do.
My “comfort addiction triggers” started to kick in to keep me in my comfort zone.
I had forgotten so long ago what resting was like, I couldn’t deal with the “not needing to work to pay bills”, and some sort of chronic burnout, my mind was getting lost, and I was questioning myself all the time.
What I liked, what was good or bad for me, was lost along the way,
it was all about doing what you have to do, and now that I could do whatever I wanted,
I didn’t know what I wanted to do.
Routines
Most of us spend so much time doing things that don’t bring us any value, and that we deeply don’t care.
From jobs, we hate just to pay bills, to people who add absolutely nothing to ourselves and our personal growth, but we stay in these cycles.
Trashy habits we do because of our circles, and we know we don’t want to take them further into the future, since those actions don’t fit the person we want to become,
but still, we do it, again and again, because we’re stuck in the cycle and “afraid” to cut ties.
Places where we literally need to be out of our minds to be going there, things which take us away from our own personal goals.
All of this simply because we’re weak,
(It’s actually unbelievable, It took me so long to realize that, but I guess I’m the kind of person who only learns by myself, so…)
And the worst part is that we get frustrated and disappointed because we don’t achieve the goals we set for ourselves.
We keep finding every possible available excuse just to justify it.
Well, guess what?
All of that, It’s how you choose to spend the seconds of your day.
The number in the bank account doesn’t matter, how hot or ugly you are doesn’t matter, if you live in a bad place or a good one, also doesn’t matter.
Only how we choose to spend the 24 hours of our day.
All the small decisions we make, are what take us closer or further away from our goals,
Even if we lie to ourselves about how we need more money or more free time to do something, the majority of things that actually bring us pleasure, joy, and satisfaction,
Are completely Free.
“Later” The big lie we keep telling ourselves.
Later doesn’t exist.
Tomorrow is a distorted illusion of all the choices you make today.
The choices you make, in the now, are what will direct the future outcome of your life, and they will either take you closer to what you want, or further away from it.
No, You won’t start the gym later, because you’ll be more tired,
You won’t stop smoking tomorrow, because you will be deeper in the cycle and your body will be more addicted to it,
If you plan on organizing later, it will probably be more chaotic.
And about achieving it later? Good luck trying that, if you don’t start now.
Simple as that.
And if we are going to go deeper into this, start taking responsibility and stop with the victim mentality,
because the truth is that if you’re not where you want, you’re not putting much effort in the direction you want to go, and also deviating all the time from the path that lead you to your goal,
All because of comfort, while you keep lying to yourself to keep those actions justifiable in your head.
But that is a talk for another episode.
So, one last question:
Will you spend your daily sacred and limited 1440 minutes of your days with the only chance you have on this planet to become and achieve what you want, making decisions that take you closer to the goal you want to achieve,
Or will you keep repeating old habits and cycles, which will just make you frustrated in the future for staying in the same place without putting in real effort?
Because it’s all about how you spend those, and getting more money,
Won’t give you more of that.
