How to Live in Joy:

Day 7: How lockdown at home has created the best environment for creativity

Wow! The first week of May, 2020 has gone by very quickly! This article is day 7 of a 30 day daily writing challenge I started for myself and would love others to join in on! I am looking at a different way I can live in joy here at home. I am taking time to really notice how I can find the joy and happiness in this situation so many of us are in. I believe this time has been given to me as a gift and I should use it in a joyful way, I should live in joy right now more than ever!

Today’s article is about how this time has allowed me to be much more creative. I am finding that this is a huge opportunity for me to grow personally and in my business like never before!

Just like how art becomes more creative as you restrain the color palette, life becomes more creative when you are given different circumstances.

I had to make a major pivot in my business in the last two months. I am a professional organizer and I have owned my own businesses since last year. Up until early March I would go to client’s homes to help them organize their areas. At first, when I stopped going to client’s homes because of the lockdown I felt as though I had fallen off a cliff. I had gained so much momentum in my business since the beginning of the year. Then, I was left not knowing what to do. I knew that I had my Facebook group that I could serve. I knew that I had a 12 week group program with two coaches to help me learn how to grow my business even in these uncertain times. I knew that I had a lot of people I could serve. I had helped long distance clients before with great success. I think that this lockdown has been an opportunity for me to grow beyond my comfort zone of going to client’s homes. This lockdown has changed my palette from many colors down to just a few. I am grateful for that!

Because of the constraints I am finding joy in serving people online! This has been such an amazing experience. This week I am guiding 9 women through a five day online retreat to clear one area in their home. We are connecting and helping each other with all kinds of ideas to make our homes great environments for us to thrive! I love inspiring others to live in joy and this is a great way to do this!

Without the lockdown, this joy would not have come to me! I would not have grown beyond what I knew. I would not have taken the risks to grow. I would not have gotten out of my comfort zone so fast.

I am now finding joy in getting out of my comfort zone. I am finding joy in putting myself out there in the world. I am finding joy in marketing myself. I am finding joy in becoming myself. I am finding joy in serving others. I am finding joy in growing beyond where I thought I could go. I am finding joy in reaching towards my highest potential!

We all have so many gifts to share. This is a time to share our skills. Share our light. Share our talents with others. The world needs you. People need what you have to offer. People need you to be YOU! Your fullest, shiniest, brightest YOU!

It’s time to find joy in growing and challenging ourselves. Our color palette is smaller now, but the art we can create with that palette is infinite!

What have you found joy in today?

I challenge you to join the 30 day challenge to write about ways you have found to live in joy at this time.

With lots of love,

Trista
