How to Have a Personal Conversation With Every Member of Your Tribe
…and maintain this relationship while you sleep
There is nothing more important — nothing — to an indie creative business, than owning your traffic. If you don’t own your traffic you don’t own a business.
You can write the best book in the world. Create the most-compelling course. Or develop the perfect mastermind group. But if someone else owns your customer traffic, you’re playing with gas and a match.
There’s a way to create a personal relationship with each person in your tribe.
Not only can you create a positive buying relationship with each person, one at a time, but you can also do this while you sleep.
It doesn’t matter how many people you have in your tribe. The process is totally scale-able. I now serve people in 75 different countries. And I do this by speaking to them one at a time — addressing their needs and listening to their biggest issues.
You can do this too.
The answer is email.
Email multiplies your personal connections
No, you can’t call each member of your tribe and develop a deep connection, one at a time. You might pull this off with a dozen people, but after that you need email.
With the right tone, you can craft a personal email that will read as if you’re sitting across from a friend — at the proverbial kitchen table.
Every week I get personal replies to emails I wrote a couple years ago.
The person on the receiving end doesn’t know it, nor does she care. I wrote a personal message. I multiplied myself — me to thousands of kitchen tables at once.
You can’t do this with social media.
You can’t do this with videos.
Email is basic. We’re used to communicating with friends this way. We’re used to communicating at work, and with companies this way. If the language feels like the person is speaking to us, we’ll reply when asked.
My readers reply every day.
With personal connection we cement the relationship with our audience. When we cement the relationship we keep our customers with us longer — which encourages them to buy our future work.
Email automates your sales process
Not only will your email do the heavy-lifting to keep your sales moving, but it frees your marketing time to add new members into your tribe.
There are only three ways to grow a business: add more customers, sell more to your current customers, increase the dollar amount of each sale.
Email allows us to grow our indie publishing business in all three ways, semi-automatically. The process isn’t all hands-off, but it’s highly scale-able for a one-person business.
This is where the real money will come from (the quit-your-job money).
The time to build that list, is now. These are your future readers.
This should be a list you own (instead of relying on social media or some other big-business platform). Tap the link below. Enroll in my Tribe 1K indie email masterclass. I’ll show you how to get your first 1,000 subscribers (and your next 1,000) without spending one hot nickel on ads.
