How To Get Over 20 Followers Daily! Passive Followers, too!

No social media is required! Get 500 new followers every month!

I love this Medium platform! Every day, I wake up, and even before I sip my cup of coffee, I have to look at my stats and it keeps growing! As of December 9, I have reached 647 followers and the amazing thing is that I have only been with Medium for 26 days. If you want to get readers and followers on a daily basis, you must check out my method. I am a newbie, too, and I am always learning but with my steps, you, too, will get new followers every day.

Please keep in mind that this method will get you readers, too. Having readers is important because this will help you earn income when you are under the Medium Partner Program.

If you haven’t read my other posts about following, I would highly recommend you read them too. I have written posts about getting my first 100 followers and also I have written an article about getting 200 followers.

Step 1. Find People Who Need Followers, Too.

To do this, you read articles about getting followers. Go to the search bar and type in, “Getting Followers.” You will see a list of articles that come up in this niche. Read them and also comment and follow the writers. Engage, clap and comment that you are a new writer and would like followers, too. Please ask readers to read your articles. You can tell them you will follow them, too. Take the initiative and follow the writer, first, before asking them to follow you. Please don’t beg. I had the occasional writer beg me to follow them but haven’t even followed me.

Step 2. Get Readers

Medium is a writing platform. Make it your goal to write more. Write often. Write when you are at the bus stop. Write when you have something to say. Nobody wants to read an article about having a pet unless you make it interesting. I try to write daily, or as often as I can. Using this method, I find that I get readers and followers.

If you have trouble finding something to write about, join publications and many publications have contests with lots of great ideas. You can also search out Google Trends for the latest trending topic. Or search out hot trending topics under Twitter.

Why not write about the holiday season? Why not write about the silliest or cutest things that kids have said to you recently?

Aim for 5 articles. Whenever you write a new article, mention other articles that you have written. Add a link to your previous articles.

When you get your first 100 followers, tag them and thank them. Do the same when you get 200 followers and you can write an article about that.

Step 3

Update your profile picture. I have seen profiles that are missing important information, such as a clear photo and a description. It doesn’t have to be fancy. Just don’t leave your description blank. People don’t like to follow someone they don’t know. Don’t be a mystery. This is not a board game.

Step 4

Create realistic goals. I don’t think it is realistic for newbies to get 100 followers within 24 hours. That takes lots of work. It took me 5 days to get my first 100 followers.

Step 5

Relax. This means that you take a moment to breathe and don’t sweat about getting followers. Take a moment to explore the Medium community. Read lots of articles and clap and comment, just because you enjoyed the article. If you follow someone, chances are good that you may get a follow back.

Step 6

Fill out all your tags and your article will find its way into the right community. Keep using the same tags and you have a good chance of being a top writer in that niche.
