How To Get More eBook Sales

Be a writer and a marketer at the same time.

Gaining Traffic is not an easy job. The moment you realize this, you’ll never depend on any marketplace.

When I started writing, no one told me that marketing was important too. The front page of my school magazine highlighted a self-published author who topped the Bestseller list.

I had a habit to read the routines of authors back then. At that time authors would do little promotion and would go on churning out books every month. Some used to do it every week! (Many have to work really hard)

So, after so many years, now this doesn’t work anymore. You have to do the marketing yourself and the books should be of decent quality

The more you fail, the more you will understand. The only thing is that it’s better if it happens early.

How To Get More Sales?

There are various parameters involved in getting more sales, but I am listing a few here that I use on a daily basis -

  1. Add a newsletter link at the back of your books. Do this early. This is the mistake I did when I started out on this journey. So make sure you avoid this. I have mentioned this before and I am mentioning it again. Add the link at the back of the ebook.
  2. Publish the paperback versions of the books as well. Although this won’t sell as much as the ebook but no harm in setting this up. On KDP, you don’t have to pay extra. You can just use the same Kindle file. Only Covers will change.
  3. Audiobooks can increase your sales a lot! With the rise of Podcast and YouTube, many writers are working on making an audio version of their previous books. It’s costly but will prove a really good income source for every author.
  4. Write more books! if a reader likes your one book then chances are that they will check for another one. So make sure you have more books under your belt.
  5. Good covers can be a game-changer. We always say that “Don’t judge a book by its cover.” But does it really apply? I do understand that it’s actually true but now, it helps the reader a lot. Think of yourself as a reader who wants to buy a book on Kindle Store. Would you buy from a new author if the cover is bad? Invest some money in the cover or use Canva. But make sure that the covers are good. I have seen this myself.
