Being obsessed with one book won’t make it better

Tale from my personal experiences

Write simple and be transparent.

I know the feeling — the first time we sit down to write our books. We are so overwhelmed by the new journey that we often make mistakes unknowingly.

You must have heard writers saying that the first book takes the longest time. They do tell the truth. My first book took me months to write. I went on and off with it. Sometimes, I would write like crazy and the next time, nothing. All blank.

I would wake up to write at night. And most of the time, I would write just a few lines only. Which in the end, I deleted.

As you know already through my previous article, getting obsessed means the book will never get published. Every time we try to hit publish, we are often filled with a negative feeling — a feeling that is telling us to edit it one more time.

We always like our first book. We always feel that it should be perfect. But my advice is that there are more books you have to write. All your stories are unique. If you get obsessed with the first one other books won’t see the light of day.

The more you write, the more you are gonna fall in love with the process. I hope you lots of love and success. Keep Writing!
