How to Get 10,000+ Views on Every Published Story

Win if you can, lose if you must, but always cheat

Every couple of months a writer publishes bunch of unbelievable numbers and all the punters go, “Ooh!” Giving that person instant credibility.

People who have been writing on Medium for a couple of months will hit on a couple of stories in a row or one big one and they think they’ve got it made.

Then we see the stories in our feed. We complain but we still click them. Knowing that, I wrote this.

To prove it, they post screen shots.

I’m not showing you this trick to promote nefariousness, but how easy it is to manipulate any webpage to say whatever someone needs it to say without photoshop.

Here’s my surefire guaranteed way to get over 10k clicks on every story you write and every story you’ve ever written, instantly. Almost instantly.

Let’s go!

  1. Start at your stats page. It helps to have stories already at the 10k+ mark close together. Saves you some work.

2. Click whatever to get to developer tools in your browser.

3. A window pops up. At the top of that window will be an icon like the one circled. Select it.

4. Click the value you wish to change. It should highlight just the number like you see in the picture.

5. Normally you would change the value for the highlighted part. In this case you’ll need to double click the highligted section in the console which will give you the out put. Change the value that I’ve circled to whatever you want it to say.

6. Do that as many times necessary to achieve desired results. You’ll need to do the math yourself or work around it. At the end it should look something like this.

Don’t believe everything that you read. A screenshot means nothing.

How two stories I wrote in the same month got over 10k views

Fuck if I know. I’ve only published 3 stories within this year with over 10k views.

What did I do different on those? No idea.

I published 500 stories on Medium before anyone noticed I was here. Before that I answered 1k questions on Quora. I’ve been writing online for over 20 years. My dues are paid.

Top spots on Medium are earned. You may have a hot story but the top writer rankings and who stays near the top doesn’t lie.

If anyone tells you that every story they write gets a thousand hits, take it with a grain of salt.

We all have our bombs. Sometimes a story hits.

5% of my stories make 90% of my partner program payout.

Showing big numbers may make you a few bucks, but the way to earn fans is showing how good you are right here, in this text editor that I’m using right now.

My publication Write! Right? Write! is full of advice doled out in an entertaining fashion by an experienced writer who knows what they’re talking about.

The bad news is there are no shortcuts. If you want to make the money, you need to write things people want to read. Stop reading clickbait like this.

Nobody has the answers, but I do have advice. Start here.
