Sometimes the best plan is to go with the flow!

How many times I heard this, when you are in the flow state, you are productive as no one. You are in the zone when you don’t even think, just you are acting on autopilot. The energy, creativity, and ideas get joined, and productivity is maximized. It’s that moment when you are totally absorbed in what you are doing that you forget about yourself. What you are doing seems effortless and natural.

So, everyone would love to reach the flow zone and make it longer. Everyone’s dream to work every day like this to be more productive and get results in a short time. Can you imagine how fast you would finish all your tasks on hand?

“When the zone calls, you must listen. You never know how long being in the zone lasts. It is a cardinal rule — you must take advantage of every second that you are in the zone.”― John Passaro

The good news is that is possible, the flow can be achieved for a short period and we can increase that period with practice. It will help us to be as productive as no one else.

The Flow is the state where your awareness is such a heightened state that it feels like you are completely on another level. I know you have all felt it before. How can you get back to this state more often?

Let’s consider these points in your daily life if you want to be “in the zone” more often.

Find People Who Share Your Passion

“There is immense power when a group of people with similar interests gets together to work toward the same goals.” — Idowu Koyenikan

It is really important to have the right mindset for this. You have to be open to meet new people and try new things.

The best way to help you to achieve peak performance is to seek a community that has dedicated themselves to your shared interests.

Our neurologic system makes that process easy. In fact, the release of chemicals caused by flow not only improves performance but helps create strong social relationships.

Let see this; if you are a mountaineer and you go up an intense and dangerous path with a group that otherwise would have nothing to do with, you can’t help but feel a social bound with them.

That’s because our neurochemicals are much less prejudiced than we are. They don’t care about our peer’s social background or political beliefs.

A community that shares your passion is unlikely to depreciate your accomplishments, which helps to build confidence and continue to grow. They validate your accomplishments with genuine admiration, with further boosts your confidence.

Remember, a community that has the same interest will help you to push the limits of what’s possible.

You Can Set the Bar higher

“The trouble with life is, we never know when we are in the zone, until we think back, with jealous longing, years later.” ― Robert Black

Each passing year, we reach a new milestone of what we thought was possible. And the more milestone we reach, the more it seems that the sky’s the limit.

Indeed, whenever a big innovation is achieved, we learn something new about what is possible. Let's see this example.

For a long time, people didn't think it possible to run an under a four-minute mile. In 1954, Roger Bannister made 3 minutes 59.4 seconds and ten years later, a high school student ran a four-minute mile for the first time.

So, Are you wondering what changed?

Bannister broke down the physiological barrier surrounding the four-minute mile, because what we perceive to be possible change with every new achievement.

If we focus on role models, we are going to be able not only in what is possible, but beyond it, trust ourselves more, and achieved our goals.

Things Required To Get In The Zone

Nobody says that it is easy to get in the zone. We just need to hold the following points.

  • Voluntary: it is a must to have the ability to accept a challenge. To know something might be difficult and will take hard work, but that is embraced and welcomed.
  • Enjoyable: this is relative, If you enjoy the thing that you are doing, everything gets easier. Otherwise, sometimes we don't like work that we are doing but when you get into, you start to enjoy doing it. Slowly if you focus on it, you can get into the zone.
  • Require skill: This is essential. If the task doesn’t require you to utilize any of your skills you will just get bored and getting bored is the worst enemy to achieve the flow.
  • Be a challenge: I think this is the most important part. To be a challenge you have to like what are you doing and commit to it. To get into flow the challenge should be something that is aligned with your skills or skill development. If the challenge is to tough you may get anxiety if it is to easy you may get bored as it will require less of you

Finally, flow is a state of mind in which you operate at your absolute best. It is rooted in your neurochemistry and can be controlled with enough know-how. On the other hand, one way to keep yourself out of flow is always to be focusing on the negative aspect of things.

Remember, the more you learn about it the greater and more spectacular the actions you will accomplish. We all can have the mindset for flow.
