Reconnecting with nature is the key

“You were born a child of light’s wonderful secret — you return to the beauty you have always been.” ― Aberjhani, Visions of a Skylark Dressed in Black

Energy drained from my emotions, My body felt weak from the notion, Eager to replenish my energy, Communing with nature creates synergy.

Walking to the rosebush on this clear and sunny morning, Brought tears to my eyes without warning, Growing anew from winters slumber, Come new green shoots all asunder.

Growing tall and strong, Assuring me nothing is wrong, The leaves told me not to fear, Everything will become clear.

I stood in the sunshines path, Feeling the light and no more wrath, Gaining strength by the moment, Feeling the message with no comment.

My heart is now open, All from words unspoken, From this rose to my soul, The bells of life to toll.

Awakening to all being well, I am under nature’s spell, Thankful for this respite, I no longer feel desperate.

Ever since yesterday, I felt my heart needed to open more. There was a need for fresh energy in my day. On my 100-day journey exploring how my habits and routines affect my creativity, I found peace.

Right after breakfast, I walked out to a rose bush in our garden. It is the one I planted for my grandma Marion. When it blooms, it looks like a beautiful sunset full of pink, orange, and yellow.

It is just barely growing new shoots and leaves right now, but it has good energy and flow.

To re-energize my heart, I needed to feel the energy of that plant. The spirit of my grandma awakened me to new possibilities.

As I held on to the beautiful, new green stalk growing straight and tall, I felt extra energy coming into my heart. It was pulsing straight from my hand, up to my arm, and into my chest.

I shed some tears, processed some emotions, and let go of some negative thoughts all within those few moments.

Those few minutes were powerful.

My prayer for you today is to find new energy in nature. Spend some time with the plants and the trees. You will be surprised by the results. They are waiting to help and guide you.
