Don’t be scared to stand out.

Conformity is the biggest failure when it comes to personal growth.

I sense that a lot of people are not into personal growth mainly because they are not given the proper direction or because they have not yet understood the personal benefit. Many want to live the status quo. They don’t want to ruffle any feathers or rock the boat or any other cliché you can think of.

The first step to raising your game is to have a healthy disregard for rules. By that, I mean that just doing something because “that’s the way it has always been done” will put you into a cookie-cutter mindset. This mindset does not allow for creativity and it does not get your brain juices going to keep you on top of your game.

You cannot change your world if you are scared to stand out.

We all don’t need to become the next Steve Jobs and up-end multiple industries. We all do not need to become the next public figure like Greta Thunberg and try to change the world with our voice! That is not what I mean by stand out.

But we all absolutely CAN become one-level or two-levels better than our own self from a few months ago. We all can do one thing just a bit differently so that people in our immediate surroundings take notice. Make the effort to know yourself more and perform at one level up. The difference is drastic!

Outwork everyone around you.

Just because you have worked for an organization for a decade does not entitle you to respect and fortune.

You have to put in the sweat, and sometimes blood and tears as well. You have to add enough value to people around you that you are recognized as a first-class player.

Leave your ego at the door, and just do some truly great work. Few things will make you feel better than a job brilliantly done.

How do you outwork everyone? With poise!

See people happy with mediocrity walk slow, think slow, and wake up slow. They have a lack of purpose in their eyes. Expecting creativity or overdelivering while under-promising is foolish.

On the other hand, A-list players and people like you and me who have the desire to up-level our game and live our best life act differently. They have a spring in their step. They have a goal and focus in their eyes and energy in their speech. They are joyful — with themselves and others. They live in gratitude.

That happy heart allows them to work harder and more effectively than others around them. They put out more and better results even though it seems that they are putting in less effort.

Protect your magic.

Set up your environments at home and at your work in a way that insulates your gifts.

If you recognize your talents then do whatever you can to create an environment that allows you to maximize them. If you are a writer — having the news on all the time is not going to help you. You need a certain setup to write: 5:00 AM peace and quiet, or music in the background, or the buzz of the coffee shop.

Don’t let information trash crowd out your creative energy.

What if tomorrow morning you open the main door of your home and you see there is a man with a bucket of trash in his hand standing in front of you? He intends to dump this bucket of trash onto your carpet inside your home! Id he succeeds, it will permanently ruin the carpet and the clean up will be messier than anything you have ever imagined.

How violently will you stop him from doing that?

My guess is, that the man is better off leaving because he is not going to succeed in his plan. Correct?

Then why is it that we let the information trash come through our LCD screens on a daily basis, dump into our brains and let that mess take over our thought process?

What can you do to make sure your mindset stays positive, creative, fertile, and active? A simple act of lighting a scented candle can signal to your mind that it is in a creative environment.

Experiment with different scenarios and see what helps you protect your magic. There is only one You in this world, and the world deserves to experience the best version of you.

Elevate your game! You will love yourself for it.
