I have anxiety, which means that I’m always thinking about what other people think of me — even though it’s the last thing on planet Earth I want to be doing. I’m not a mind reader, but intrusive thoughts seem to think I could be if I tried hard enough.

The #1 method I’ve used to cope with my intrusive thoughts is exercise. Something about engaging the body physically keeps my mind laser-focused.

If you suffer from intrusive thoughts, I’d recommend exploring your hobbies and interests to find something that makes you feel good and keeps your attention.

Try to get a regular dose of your favorite activity in your daily life. But, when those intrusive thoughts come to visit, remember to be kind to yourself despite what lies your mind may spin.

Big thank you to Liberty Forrest, Author for a great writing prompt.
