How To Create Your Future Life Right Before You Fall Asleep

One of the hardest parts of working with the mind to intentionally manifest outcomes and create change in your life is being able to reach the subconscious mind. This is usually attempted through meditation, breathwork, relaxation techniques, and even during sex.

However, one of the most powerful and often overlooked times to impact your subconscious mind and change your future is right before you drift off to sleep.

Why sleep?

Because when you start to drift off to sleep, your brain starts producing slow-cycling theta waves. Theta is associated with dream sleep, super learning, creativity, daydreaming, and deep meditation. You can think of it as an in-between state of your conscious and subconscious mind. And this is a sacred space of consciousness because you are now standing at the doorway to your subconscious mind. That means it is wide open to your instructions and suggestions.

Here’s what you can do every night right before you are about to nod off to take advantage of these moments:

  1. Visualize a mental image or symbol of something you desire.
  2. Feel the emotions this desire bring you. See yourself in this situation.
  3. Associate a word with the desire (ex: confidence, wealth) and then keep feeling the emotions.
  4. Create a physical gesture to associate with your chosen word (crossed fingers, hand over your heart, etc.)
  5. Bring all four steps together. The key is to associate the mental image, the feeling of the experience, the word, and the physical gesture together.

The whole process should take at most 1–2 minutes. Remember you are trying to reach that “sacred space” that happens right before you are out cold. Try it for a week and see what happens.
