How To Bring Balance And Harmony In Your Life
Happiness is not a matter of intensity but of balance, order, rhythm and harmony. ~Thomas Merton

Question
Yesterday I talked to one of my close friends and discussed our life.
The more we talked about life, we realized, we are trying to do many things in our life and somehow don’t have a fulfilling feeling.
Don’t get me wrong, I am grateful for everything. But you know, sometimes you still have that ich — something is missing.
The next question popped up, are we doing it all wrong?
We are following all the right things to find balance and harmony in our daily life, but somehow it seems like it is still not there.
So what are we doing wrong and how can we find the balance?
Audit
Though balance is something I strive for in my life, it can be hard to feel balanced when I’m trying to do too much.
And if I’m being totally honest, sometimes it’s because I’m simply not using my time in the best ways (don’t judge me).
Balance means something different to everyone, yet most of us are seeking it in some way or another.
When you’re burned out and stressed out, balance seems like the ultimate remedy.
What balance means to you
To me, it means that you have a handle on the various elements in your life and don’t feel that your heart or mind is being pulled too hard in any direction.
More often than not, to feel calm, grounded, clear-headed, and motivated.
The one area I really struggle to find balance is between work and home especially since work from home started in 2020.
Most of the time, I spend more time working than concentrating on my sleep, eating habits, or giving enough time to my relationship. If one thing is out of balance, it affects the whole cycle.
So the very first step is to decide what sort of balance you’re looking to achieve.
Are you not finding time to do your workout, catch up on sleep, do daily house chores, spend time with kids, with partners, or even with parents work is getting overwhelming.
Find a specific thing and journal your thoughts and start finding ways to do to achieve more balance.
It seems hard work but honestly, it’s not and once you add this to your practice it’s going to come easy for sure.
Let go of controlling Life.
Acknowledge
Once you know where you need to find the balance, it’s easy to work on the process.
If you want to work out more, add 30 mins to work out in your daily life.
If you want to spend more time with your partner, why not start with a date night or a movie night once a week?
If you want to add time for your hobby or anything, start finding time to add to your routine.
Take some time to look at your life, your state of mind, and how you’re feeling.
Be honest with yourself and notice the areas of your life that you’re neglecting.
Lastly-
If things are not going the way you need, don’t hesitate to ask for help.
Delegate, automate, or eliminate anything that works best for you.
You need to crave some time to process your day.
With everything, you might be juggling, the most important thing is to make time for yourself.
Just like accomplishing any goal in life, it takes time and effort to overcome your habitual patterns and create new ones.
If you aren’t taking ample time to do what fills your soul away from your responsibilities, balance will always seem out of reach.
If you practice self-discipline, stay consistent, and plan, you’ll find that you can work self-care into your schedule and enjoy a more balanced life going forward!
