How to Bio-Hack Your Sex Life
Interesting ways to enhance and keep your reproductive organs looking and feeling young

If you have yet to come across Susan Bratton, then you should!
It was Monday morning, and I had just dropped my children off at their school and decided to listen to one of my favourite Podcasts, "The Human Upgrade with Dave Asprey."
A title that caught my attention was "The Science of Sex: Longevity, Pleasure & Performance, "— by Susan Bratton:1087.
As someone in my early forties, sex and intimacy are just as important to me as keeping my brain and body fit when it comes to aging.
As I listened to the podcast, I was surprised to learn the many different bio-hacking techniques for keeping the reproductive organs looking and feeling healthy.
As you age, atrophy begins to happen throughout your body, including the penis and vagina. According to Susan, both the penis and vagina can start to shrink and lose sensitivity which becomes more challenging to have organisms.
This can be discouraging in maintaining a healthy sex life. Still, interesting enough, with supplementation and sexual regenerative therapies, both men and women can become more comfortable with their sexuality as they age.
Nitric Oxide
According to a study by The Journal of Preventive Medicine and Hygiene, researchers believe that nitric oxide helps the body relax and widens and dilates the blood vessels.
With aging, this essential molecule diminishes, leaving less circulation flowing throughout your body and the genitals.
Circulation is essential when it comes to your sexual health. This is one of the reasons why men experience erectile dysfunction and women lose clitoral sensitivity.
You may want to consider speaking to a doctor or healthcare practitioner and ask if nitric oxide supplements will help promote circulation to your sex organs.
Semen retention
It's challenging to find a lot of evidence on semen retention, but it's something that I've come across in the holistic industry.
The practice dates back to Taoism, an ancient Chinese philosophy and religion. Taoist Master Mantak Chia teaches semen retention in his book, Taoist Secrets of Love: Cultivating Male Sexual Energy.
As mentioned on the podcast, both Dave and Susan also talked about semen retention and the benefits it can have for men.
Some scientific research suggests that men who practice semen retention a few times a week might feel a boost in testosterone. Increasing testosterone levels may enhance libido and improve sexual satisfaction.
According to Healthline, by retaining sperm, men will feel more energized, have mental clarity and deeper relationships with themselves and others.
Vacuum erection devices
Listening to Dave and Susan's podcast, I learned about vacuum erection devices for both men and women.
Men can purchase a penis pump, which draws blood into the male genitalia due to a slight vacuum pressure. As a result of this expansion, micro-tears form in the erectile tissue, forming new cells that repair and rebuild the tissue.
Using a penis pump is a non-invasive way to manage erectile dysfunction and help with atrophy with the decline of age.
For women, purchasing a vulva pump will also help the blood flow to the genitals, resulting in more sensitivity, pleasure and organisms.
Also, due to atrophy, women lose sensitivity in their vagina as they age, which can lead them to avoid sexual activity.
Regular sex can be youthful
You should consider sex and intimacy as important as exercising and eating healthy to stay young.
Having regular sex reduces the amount of hormones your body needs to respond to stress, helping to alleviate anxiety and worry.
Additionally, sex boosts circulation and increases nutrient flow to the skin by pumping oxygen throughout the body, giving you a youthful glow.
Sleep is an essential part of staying young. Having regular sex releases oxytocin post-organism and lowers cortisol levels in the body, which helps with improved sleep.
As you begin to age, you may feel uncomfortable with the atrophy of your genitals, which can make you feel discouraged regarding sex and intimacy.
Although there is nothing to be ashamed of when it comes to the aging process, it's also perfectly okay to want to find methods to turn back the clock when it comes to your intimate parts.
Luckily, with technology and education, you can find ways to bio-hack your sex life to continue to experience longevity and pleasure.
