How Sexy Is Your City? A Guide Based on Sex, Porn, and Kinks

Can a city be sexy?

Does a town have a vibe that makes it more seductive, more likely to make people horny and rush into bed?

For me, Paris holds a special charm. Perhaps it's the wine. Or the cheese. No, actually, it's the abundance of attractive people in their berets. Whatever the reason, I seem to get hornier in Paris than in any other city I’ve visited.

And I’m not alone.

Regular readers will know I find data sexy and get a kick out of delving deep into numbers and stats to see what drives our sexual behavior. So I guess sex data is a kink of mine.

So I was excited when I saw a recent report highlighting the most seductive cities in the world.

The folks at the bottleclub looked at thirty of the biggest cities worldwide and considered ten criteria to compile their list of the most seductive.

What makes a city seductive?

Ok.

This is going to be subjective. For example, what I find sexy in a city is slightly different from the criteria in this report. But first, let’s look at their criteria, and then we can add in some of our own at the end.

The eight criteria they looked at for each city were:

• number of strip clubs
• number of sex events
• number of people searching for ‘kinks’
• number of porn stars with the same name as the city
• number of 1-hour Hotels
• number of OnlyFans subscribers
• number of restaurants that sell champagne
• and the number of restaurants that sell oysters.

A few of those seem to be added in for the sake of it, but based on these, they came up with the most seductive and sexy city in the world.

And the winner is…

Very Big Ben

I’ve been to London several times.

It’s a cool city. But in my opinion, it isn't a sexy city. Perhaps I visited the wrong Big Ben as it seems there is a kinky, sexy underbelly that I seem to have missed.

London came in number one on the most seductive cities list.

It hosted 131 sex events, was home to over 10,000 content creators on OnlyFans, and 167,197 horny Londoners signed up to fetish sites.

There were also thirty porn stars go by the name of London.

Based on this, London scored 38.7 out of a possible 40 for sex, kink, and seductiveness.

Also finishing on the podium were Las Vegas and Berlin in second and third, respectively.

For those basing their decision more on sex and less on other factors, Berlin did have the most sex events, with 244 of them.

Perhaps that is why the world’s richest person, Elon Musk, went on a Berlin sex club crawl. But proving that money can’t always buy you sex, he was rejected from one club.

Not so naughty Norwegians

Oslo is perhaps the most expensive city I have visited.

I remember I took a taxi for five minutes from my hotel to a bar, and the trip cost $60. At the bar, I then ‘enjoyed’ $20 beers.

This dampened my enthusiasm — and my wallet — and my hope of meeting an attractive Norwegian to spend the night with evaporated.

So it’s not surprising that Oslo in Norway finished in last place on the seductive city list.

It ranked low on all the criteria.

Perhaps that is why the Nobel Peace Prize is awarded in Oslo every year — make peace, not love.

Food porn

Food is often associated with sex. A quick look at the images used in sex articles will illustrate that. Eggplants, bananas, and peaches abound.

If you are more into food porn than OnlyFan porn, consider a trip to the Big Apple instead of heading to London.

Mmm, BIG apple.

New York City was ranked first for having the world’s most sensual menus as the city is full of champagne bars and oyster restaurants.

Are oyster restaurants important? Yep.

Oysters have a very high zinc content, and zinc helps regulate testosterone levels. And of course, testosterone is the most important male sex hormone. One study even found that zinc could help treat erectile dysfunction.

Forget Viagara; just have a dozen oysters.

I’m an Aussie, and we hate losing to the English in any competition.

On this ranking, London won while Sydney only placed 9th, which means I need to find other factors to determine the world’s sexiest city.

Sorry, BottleClub — I’m going to have to refer to other surveys.

Last year, the adult mobile app laveeza conducted a study of over 450,000 people aged 18–70 years old across 200 cities. This survey looked at categories including sexual activity, sexual experimentation, sexual satisfaction, sex toy consumption, porn consumption, adult entertainment, swinger culture, access to contraception, LGBT friendliness, and gender equality.

This comprehensive list was then added to sexual health reports on each country, compiled by the World Health Organisation and the World Bank.

Paris was ranked number one, just ahead of Rio de Janeiro on this occasion. Paris was ranked very high in the swinger and adult entertainment categories, while Rio topped the sexually experimental and sexually active categories.

I knew I liked Paris for a reason.

One night in Helsinki

For those interested in a casual hook up, then head to the capital of Finland.

A 2008 U.S. university study evaluated the promiscuity among countries worldwide based on one-night stands, attitudes towards casual sex, and the number of sexual partners the average person enjoyed.

They found that the Finns have the largest number of sexual partners in the industrialized world and are the most likely to have a one-night stand.

So if that’s your thing, book a one-night vacation to Helsinki. You won't even need to book a hotel room if you're lucky.

By any criteria, we all love sex

This is a lighthearted look at how sexy a city is. In reality, there are many different ways to rate a city — or country.

I have previously looked at the world's loudest, longest, and horniest countries. In that study, countries were ranked on criteria including frequency of sex, number of sex partners, and even the volume of sex. And different countries came out on top.

There are also ways to plan your travels around sexual activity and exploration.

But the fact is, as long are we are happy with our own sex lives and performance, the city you are in or the country you are visiting shouldn't matter.

While there may be more sex events in Berlin, more sexual experimentation in Rio, or more one-night stands in Helsinki, it all comes down to the individual.

For me, I’m happy to visit any of these cities listed above and explore their sexual side.

Even Oslo. However, I may need a GoFundMe campaign first.
