Most of us love to read celebrity weight loss success stories, and it is either to love it or hate it.

Many tuned in to Will Smith’s weight loss journey documentary on YouTube, he did lose the extra 20 pounds in 20 weeks in what he called the best shape of his life.

We knew what happened next, his Oscars meltdown.

A lot of us were surprised when Adele lost 100 pounds. In an exclusive interview with Oprah, she revealed that she lost weight to help her deal with anxiety.

Not everyone was supportive, that she had to say this to Oprah —

“I was body-positive then and I’m body-positive now. It’s not my job to validate how people feel about their bodies. … I’m trying to sort my own life out.”

Rebel Wilson

Now it is Rebel Wilson who is under public scrutiny when she lost 77 pounds in one year.

In 2020, Rebel Wilson called it her year of health.

Many speculated that she was on The Mayr Method, to which she already publicly denied.

She attributed her weight loss to walking. She walks for an hour for six days.

Losing weight is something that many people struggle with, but Rebel Wilson managed to do it successfully.

Now that she has lost weight, is she still funny?

It is odd that we only ask women this kind of question, no one asked Will Smith if he can still act when he lost weight.

Well, Rebel Wilson has a new movie on Netflix, and Senior Year has become number one in 60+ countries.

Final words

We can continue to look at celebrities for inspiration, but we need to be mindful that celebrities have access to the best fitness professionals, and Rebel Wilson is no different.

She has a celebrity trainer on hand to monitor her progress. But that shouldn’t stop us to try a lifestyle change.

Weight loss isn’t a guarantee of good health, but it can help you feel good about yourself.

And isn’t it when we feel good about ourselves that our self-esteem goes up?

Here is what Mayo Clinic has to say about good self-esteem —

Self-esteem affects virtually every facet of your life. Maintaining a healthy, realistic view of yourself isn’t about blowing your own horn. It’s about learning to like and respect yourself — faults and all.

You don’t need to do what Rebel Wilson did for her health. You only need to realize what she did when she started her wellness journey, she needed to take action if she wanted to be the healthier version of herself.
