How Productive People Include Their Passions

We make time for the important things

“When your passion and purpose are greater than your fears and excuses, you will find a way.”

– Unknown author

I recently had a friend ask me if I’ve been watercolor painting lately?

The answer, unfortunately, “was not much,” then followed by an excuse. We make excuses for different reasons. It made me question why haven’t I been painting?

The answer to this isn’t coming easy. I love watercolor painting it’s such a delightful recharge! I’ve had some free time, but something is still stopping me.

I guess it boils down to the fear of failure. But failure to whom? I don’t have to share my paintings with anyone but myself. Still, is it the fear of letting myself down? I feel like I’m not very good at it.

Nonetheless, the only way to get better is to take the time to nurture my passion for painting. I need to pursue this prompting within my spirit.

Allowing our passion, the space to grow creates a new area to enable your productivity to flourish. When you release those creative juices, it inspires a new level of living.

How to create time

We always make time for the things that are important to us. Is your passion important to you?

We all have the same amount of time in a day. Why is one person determined to get better at their passion when another person forfeits momentum?

Is the fear of failure holding you back? Or the fear of making a mistake? Or the fear of not being good enough? There are so many different reasons why you aren’t pursuing your desires.

How to make it a habit

To be consistent with a new passion you must establish a new habit. The more you keep repeating a positive experience the better.

Setting yourself up for success is detrimental to being able to establish a daily opportunity. Keeping things simple helps to elevate the feeling of being overwhelmed.

How to embrace the mistakes

When it comes to my painting, I had a few experiences when I didn’t feel very optimistic about the final projects. We can certainly be our worst critics.

We need to encourage ourselves to pick up where we left off. It’s too easy to get discouraged and throw in the towel. Do you have an endeavor that you enjoy but have not been making the time for it? Could it be a fear of letting yourself down that is stopping you?

Maybe it’s not painting, but with any passion or hobby, could the words of Bob Ross inspire us to keep trying?

“There are no mistakes, only happy accidents.”

– Bob Ross

Takeaway

Any form of creative art is healing. Can your worries or anxieties stop you from being as productive as you would like during the week? Allowing your passions and hobbies a place to develop will release those feelings of being overwhelmed, putting you in a calmer state of mind. In return, you will be more productive than ever.

What is your passion or hobby? When was the last time you allowed yourself the space to create? We must stop feeling guilty about taking time to play!

Even playing all day can give you a new lease on your goals. In return, your dreams can significantly germinate. The power of creativity is incredible. Give your masterpieces the time they need to evolve.
