I was just hoping to make something. I’ve been blogging for a little over a year and my ad revenue is only about 10. Yes, followers are awesome, but what’s more important is an engaged community willing to read the work you are putting out into the universe.</p><p id="4b90">July 3rd was a Sunday so I wasn’t expecting my reads to be so high. But, I attribute that to <a href="https://readmedium.com/read-for-read-club-list-122-daf442b728d2">Indigo’s Read for Read</a> list coming out. Can I buy a new car with my Medium earnings this month? If I could, I’d pick a yellow convertible. I’ve always wanted one. Maybe one day I’ll buy it.

But, let’s get into the stats for my first month of being in the Medium Partner Program.

One week ago marked one month on Medium. I grew 100 followers in the first week to apply for the Medium Partner Program. I had 395 followers a little over a week ago and now I have 504! I didn’t hit my 500 follower goal for June, but I did by July 3rd.

I didn’t really have any expectations regarding money. I was just hoping to make something. I’ve been blogging for a little over a year and my ad revenue is only about $10. That’s $10 TOTAL, not per month.

So how did I do in my first PAID month on Medium?

I ended June with my read count slowly going up. Yes, followers are awesome, but what’s more important is an engaged community willing to read the work you are putting out into the universe.
