I escape to poetry to keep things real. But it’s fiction, I know you know.
The poem was read by 230 members of Medium
Only 4% of the readers were from outside the Medium
The 3-minute poem was read for 8 months for a total of almost 6 hours
The numbers are not the most important 8.7 billion lives, all on this planet. What does it matter? Why does it matter? And what was the number one of all the things that mattered? The Power of Poetry To give people Cause to think. And what was the number two thing that mattered? The power of art. To make someone feel. And what was the number three thing that mattered? The power of love. To make someone realize how much they mean to us, be it a friend or an enemy. It seems so simple, doesn’t it? Just to put your hand out and lend help. How much I received for my poetry and art. And how much I gave by lending my hand to a friend. To make them realize how important they are to me, How much comfort can be found in words “I forgive you,” even if I never say it? To have communication with someone who hurts so badly that it takes a great length of time to heal. To make them realize that even though we may be far apart, they will always be in my heart, no matter what happens.
