How I Went From Making $2.38 to $26.08 In A Month With Less Than 500 Followers
A simple strategy that anyone can do
When I first joined Medium back in May I was aware of the possible amount of money a writer could potentially make and I was confident in my abilities to make money on Medium. I decided to really go out and set a challenge for myself last month to post as much content as possible, I even took a chance and joined a 30 Day writing challenge.
Writing is easier said than done.
There’s so much more to content writing that people just don’t seem to understand. It’s hard enough to write a complete article start to finish in all one sitting, now add the fact that you also have to edit and proofread your writing while optimizing your blogs for SEO at the same time.
Good things come to those who wait. Here’s proof so you know I’m not lying about my earnings and that it’s entirely possible

Not bad for my standards. I told myself that I was going to give my best effort in writing content on Medium for a goal of making over $15, by the middle of the month my pay kept going up a dollar each day because I was consistent. Medium loves their consistent writers.
I now set myself a goal of making over $30 by the end of August. But let’s not get into that now, I’m going to show you what I did to go from making $2.38 to $26.08 all in a span of a month.
Let’s get into it…
JUNE
I said this in one of the recent articles of my 30 Day writing challenge results, and I’ll say it in this one, participate in the 30 Day writing challenge. You get the ability to spread your writing out to different niches by joining all sorts of various publications to write for.
To make things even better, publications have followers and daily readers so you won’t have to worry about just starting as a new writer and not having any traffic to your writing.
I recommend using Pinterest as a way to marketize your writing to have a potential following as another way to promote your brand. I have more details about Pinterest Marketing if you’re interested in learning.
This is the biggest evidence and the main reason why my earnings shot up for the month. I made 9 articles total in June, I was more focused on learning the basics of Medium and expanding my knowledge from reading content about startups, marketing, and making money with social media
JULY
I went all out in July and managed to post 31 articles for July. I pushed myself to reach 40 but I didn’t realize how hard it was to write every day and submit to these different publications simultaneously, so I had to settle with 31.
The 30 Day Challenge was the main contributing factor and I’ll eventually do it in the future but I’m honestly burned out from all the writing from July and chose to set an easygoing but consistent writing schedule for myself for August.
It takes hard work and a whole lot of patience, make sure to join the right publications that have a good chance at submitting your work.
