How I Overcome Writing Once a Week: Tips and Strategies

Photo by Maddi Bazzocco on Unsplash

I assumed after my first struggle of pressing the publish button on my first article (you can read it here!), I would not be facing any more obstacles. I was wrong. Here comes my 2nd stumbling block: staying consistent to write at least one article per week. I had trouble even after hours of sitting on the chair still thinking of a topic to write, I was still staring at a blank page. I was frustrated.

I thought I had a perfect plan by putting aside at least a couple of hours on a particular day to write. I showed up. However, I was just staring at the blank computer screen with no ideas flowing. Maybe this method works for most people, but not for me. So, I had to search for an alternative.

I’d prefer doing things with no fixed schedule for now. At any time when an idea pops into my head, I’ll instantly take out my phone to write the idea on the notes app. Undeniably, it will be messy but it is okay.

Along with that, I discovered most of my ideas are either on the bed or when I am traveling from/to my destinations. Additionally, I prefer writing in a very dark and cold room in the early dawn when everyone is still sleeping.

While there may be thousands of guides on how to show up in writing, you have to find a solution that is uniquely yours. It will definitely take some time, but I can assure you that you will.
