My strategies to develop more followers

As new writers, everyone’s concern is to develop the first 100 followers. Once they achieve the first 100 followers, they will develop the next 100 followers.

I am sure you are aware that if you have followers, it does not mean that they will read your articles. The only way to be sure is that you have regular interactions with them. Let me share some things I have learnt along the journey.

1. Interactions with other writers’ articles are helpful

Whenever I read and interact with other writers, complimenting them helps me secure new followers. Adding comments on others’ writings helps me gain more followers because of my visibility. Other readers may click on my profile to check my background. They follow me when they realise I am writing consistently on topics that resonate with them.

So, it has been my habit to read what others would write and to add a comment to encourage them. Of course, there will be posts we want to comment on, but somehow we cannot resonate with their writings, so we have to refrain from commenting.

Do not comment just for the sake of commenting. Make sure that we read and understand the writings before commenting. The writer can somehow tell the difference if the comments are not sincere.

I also like highlighting some paragraphs of what they wrote and responding with my thoughts. It is encouraging because it shows that someone is reading what they have written in detail.
