Health and Fitness | How Much Water Should You Drink

How Good Is Water For Your Body and How Much Should You Drink?

People ask me all the time how much water they should drink. Or, is water actually that good for you? Short answer is YES, which most people already know. But, I’ll explain things in my way with this short story.

Drink More Water!

I’ll encourage you to drink more and more water!

I don’t care if you like the taste of it or not, drink it anyway to better your health!

Folks, this is a simple thing. There are water fountains, water stations, faucets and such EVERYWHERE! Use them! The human body is made up of mostly water!

Heck, I buy a case of water (usually less than $5) and then refill the water bottles with my filtered water. It’s not that hard, just prepare a little bit is all.

Let me explain a little bit how water actually functions in your body without getting all scientific.

I like to keep things simple.

Water filters out the “bad stuff”. BUT, the water holding the “bad stuff” needs to be replaced or that “bad stuff” will stay in your body, is that what you want? I know I don’t. Sure, you’ll go pee more, but that’s a good thing! Drink water baby! That’s what I’ll tell you.

I usually get asked this as a follow up question to my little “bad stuff” speech you just read…. “How much water should I drink during a typical day?”

You can talk to 100 people and get 100 different answers. BUT, I don’t like to give 100 different answers, so I’ll sum it up in a video I did a while back on how much water you should drink in a day. You can watch it below.

Basically, the rule I tell my clients is this:

Take your body weight in pounds, cut it in half, then drink that much water in ounces a day.

Here’s an example: I use my tens table because it’s easier. Let’s say you weight 200lbs. Half of 200 is what? 100, right? So, you would drink 100 oz of water a day.

Now, just apply that formula to your own body weight and go from there!

So there you go, another article about drinking water, but with a slight “Andrew” twist to it!
