Struggling For Inspiration? What If You’re Already Surrounded By It…

Take inspiration from what’s already around you

Who inspires you?

A question that my partner recently asked me and to be totally honest, I really had to think about this one.

I struggled to come up with a particular person. I had many people floating around my head, but they were not mega life-changing people. They were like-minded people who inspire me daily for their own individual reasons — Mostly perseverance, motivation and commitment to what they want and stand for in life.

It certainly wasn’t the likes of Richard Branson, Opera or Einstein who sprang to mind (don’t get me wrong, they are all very fascinating people). It was those whose journeys I love to follow. Close family members and friends who are following their dreams.

It’s the people who are closest to me who inspire me the most — There is nothing more I love to see than to watch them grow.

To me, inspiration doesn’t come from famous people, from those who have ‘made it’ in life or from those who have created the world’s most amazing invention. For me, inspiration comes from people who have impacted my life positively by influencing or motivating me throughout my own journey, someone who I can learn from.

If there was a person who immediately sprang to mind when you thought about who inspires you, then you’ll understand me when I say that positive inspiration can be so powerful — Here is why:

Inspiration encourages progress on my goals: I am motivated to succeed when I am feeling inspired by others around me, giving me a sense of clarity of my own goals and possibilities.

Inspiration increases my well-being: It certainly has a positive effect on my mood and life satisfaction, increasing my feelings of gratitude, appreciation and positivity by enhancing my sense of purpose.

Inspiration sparks my creativity: This mainly stems from motivation, when I am motivated, I am more creative and when I am creative, I feel inspired. It’s the feeling of overcoming the impossible by transforming my own capabilities.

Who inspires you and how does it make you feel? Has there ever been someone in your life that has helped you overcome a struggle or have you ever inspired a person to take a positive step to a better life?

I’d love to know who and how this made you feel.
