How do you even start learning about Blockchain?

To start, let me mention I am a Software Engineer in Test, aka QA. I have been working on testing mobile apps and writing some automated tests for over 7 years.

Welcome back to my channel, in this video I want to highlight what was the most important decision I took when starting to get into Blockchain.
Make sure you stay until the end of the video, because I’ll be revealing something you can’t miss.

Alright, so, HOW did I end up getting involved in the world of Blockchain??
Was it through Bitcoin? or Trading? or any kind of crypto investment?
Not even close. Funny fact, before Web3 Security, I had never been interested or involved in anything related to crypto. And I will tell you more, I had never even heard the word Blockchain until the day I spoke with a good friend of mine about it.
[move right]
The story is that I was catching up with a friend who was involved in a Blockchain course as a teacher. And she was very excited about it.
Do you know those moments where you’re just asserting with your head without understanding what that person is talking about?
Well that was my case that time.
I honestly had no clue what would that be about, and what I decided to do that time was to be curious and ask what it was about… and well, it did indeed get my attention.
So, boring things aside.
Once you discover you are interested in Blockchain, how do you even start learning about it?

From my experience, the best places to find and consume material about Blockchain are YouTube, like for most things, and Twitter, yup, that place where in the last decade lived a bunch of haters also has a growing community of blockchain enthusiasts who are constantly sharing knowledge and material, both in tweets and links to articles from multiple sites.

So, after some time watching videos and following a few Twitter accounts I realized I had lots of noise on both my Youtube home and in my personal Twitter feed.
So how did I solve that?
[move down]
I created a separate Twitter account to only follow and interact with Blockchain-related tweets and the same with YouTube. I created a new account where I would only watch Blockchain-related things. And by doing that, I would be getting rid of lots of distractions in order to find the things that interested me the most.

If you want to find out who are the best content creators on YouTube or some accounts with lots of alpha on Twitter, make sure to visit The Blockchainer hub

And that’s just the beginning. Once you’re set up and start consuming material, little by little things will start to click more in your mind.
For those of you seeking some help to get started, I recommend you to check the Roadmap video series I have started on my channel. I will leave the link in the description, but make sure you subscribe to follow up on the next edition.
How did you guys first hear about blockchain? Let me know in the comments.
That’s all for now, thanks for watching, take care!
