In overthinking and its effects on you, I have discussed overthinking. You can say the previous article as a personal observations and experiences. Keeping in mind the overthinking, I decided to share how do I deal with overthinking.

Overthinking ruins your mental peace and destroys life. To live a better life, one should avoid overthinking. Although it is difficult to stop thinking, but you can overcome overthinking.

There is a need to put limitations on your mind so that your mind does not proceed to overthink. You should keep in mind the extent of the thought process. If it continues for several hours, then you should divert your attention. It is the only way to overcome overthinking.

You can engage yourself in certain helpful habits to overcome overthinking. This engagement could be with friends and family members. You can so engage yourself in some activities like reading, writing, and drawing.

Meditation also helps over thinkers to stop their random thoughts. Just repeat the activity of breath in — breath out, and you will feel better. The mind also gets relaxed with meditation. In this way, you can deal with overthinking.

Instead of weeping over your problems, you can exercise the best of everything. There could be many other ways to overcome overthinking, such as reading, writing, and listening.

Sometimes, you need a gentle friend, whom you can share your mind, but keep in mind the nature of friend. I think very few people have honest and true friends, if you have such friend then keep him/ her for lifetime. You will not be awarded with such good hearts again.

Although music is banned in some Muslim countries, but music acts as a healer. It soothes you by relaxing your nerves. Whenever you feel yourself in the trap of overthinking, listen to your favorite music. It will help in diverting your attention, thus reduced the stress level.

Traveling also served as the best way to deal with overthinking. Whenever I get indulges into my thoughts and couldn't find any way out, I went to the grandparent's hometown. I have to travel a few miles, but this traveling help me to forget the disturbing thoughts. You can also travel to near places such as parks to refresh yourself. This activity also help to deal with overthinking.

Reminders also help to deal with overthinking. Train your mind by using certain phrases that are helpful to divert the mind, like “Dear mind! Stop overthinking; nothing changes” “Dear brain, why are you thinking this way? It is not good for your health”. You can make your own phrase to stop thinking before it becomes overthinking because mental health is more important than anything.

In a nutshell, overthinking is a silent killer of your happiness. Thus, there is a need to stop this. I have shared how do I deal with overthinking.
