An 84-year-old man ran away with a 60-year-old woman?
Are you sure he was running?

“Someday I will have revenge. I know in advance to keep this to myself, and everyone will be happier. — Suzanne Finnamore,
Five Decades Down the Drain
Our 84-year-old male church acquaintance ran off with a 60-year-old woman. It took over five decades of marriage for him to decide that he needed a new woman. Now, he is miserable. His 71-year-old wife has frozen every dollar and every property they owned with the help of their children. His new woman did not recognize she was stealing a person with health issues. She did not understand his wife was the chief financial officer in their household.
I wonder what the new woman saw in him. He is literally a bent-over little old man, with enormous glasses, shaking hands, body ravaged by multiple ailments. How did she seduce him? Did she wiggle her sixty-year-old bum around him enough that he noticed it? Inquiring minds want to know.
The new woman was the van driver for his medical appointments. I’m going to assume they made a few side trips as he was returning from his appointments. Where do you park a medical transport van at a hotel or motel while you are inside getting it on? When they were in the room, did their neighbors hear a heart defibrillator’s high-pitched electric whine as it charged? Did they hear a loud female voice yell “Clear!” followed by a “thump?” Apparently, no one noticed anything going on between the 84-year-old “player” and his van driver. This gets crazier and crazier.
Me or Her?
The new lady decided the time was right to force the senior to choose between her and his wife. He loved doing her so much he left his wife. A person who chooses their new extramarital affair over their long-term spouse is not thinking things through. His small head decided he no longer needed his wife. Out with the old, in with the new.
His wife made sure there was no money in their joint accounts. All the common credit cards were reported stolen. If he did not take it with him when he left, he sure can’t get it now. At the children’s urging, his wife is paying for his various prescription and nonprescription medications. She did not, however, provide the detailed instructions required to manage them. The new woman needs to read the bottles and talk to multiple doctors about his problems. I suspect this is not what the interloper expected. Awkward!
To care for him properly, this female will need to call multiple doctors as a man that old has many doctors. “Hello, Doctor. This is the new mistress. Can you provide me with three decades of medical history so I can take care of my honey?” Primary care physician, cardiologist, podiatrist, endocrinologist, urologist, and psychologist. She will need to interface with each doctor and set up a medication schedule. The good news is that since she has been driving him around for his appointments, she already knows where to go.
An Unexpected But Predictable Outcome
His financial situation and health issues derailed the mistresses’ schemes. Her due diligence sucked. Our girl informed lover boy things were not working out. She was ready to move on with her life without him. He had to move out of her apartment by the morning.
Calling his friends for help, he stated he was not in love anymore. None of his married friends’ wives would tolerate him at their home like he was contagious. In desperation, he called his youngest son, an unmarried person, who said he would pick him up in the morning.
His wife is freshly betrayed, in pain and denial. Now her husband wants to discuss loyalty. She wants to discuss cheating and infidelity during the still raging global pandemic. Actions have consequences. I want to be a fly on the wall for that discussion.
