How Can You Believe When It Seems Impossible?
Take the steps to increase your faith and see great things happen in your life.

“You know what the issue is with this world? Everyone wants a magical solution to their problem, and everyone refuses to believe in magic.” — Alice in Wonderland.
Most inventions or seismic changes in society happen because of the desire to solve a problem, whether it be the right to vote or developing an alternative to fossil fuels.
All great inventions or significant changes in society start with an idea. And it takes inventors and changemakers faith to believe in something there is no evidence for its’ reality at the moment.
You Must First Create It In Your Mind
Everything that has ever been created was first imagined. So, if you want to create something, you must first imagine it.
Anything anyone achieved of great significance had to first start with a vision — where there was no evidence of it in reality. No matter what the field is — science, medicine, politics, humanitarian causes.
As Robin Sharma, author of the bestseller, “The Monk Who Sold His Ferrari” said, “Everything that is created is created twice — first in mind and then in reality.”
But we often insist on reality first before we start believing. Exercising faith in a vision, especially when there is little physical evidence, is like believing in magic. But for the magic to happen, you must first believe before you can see it.
The people who create amazing things believe in ‘magic.’ People such as Mother Theresa, Jeff Bezos, and Jessica Arden all achieved what they did, not because they did not face moments of doubt but because of their belief in the magic of their vision was more dominant than their doubts.
Ten Tips To Nurture A Dream or Solve a Problem
How do you cling on to the vision or find a solution to a problem when there is little evidence of it materializing? How do you hold on to faith when it looks like nothing more than a pipe dream? Here are ten tips on how to turn dreams into reality.
- Surround yourself with people who believe in you.
- List the steps you need to take to make the dream a reality or if it is a problem you’re facing, and list the steps to bring a solution.
- Take action (as per #2) towards achieving that dream.
- Create milestones to track your progress.
- Question your beliefs. Nurture beliefs that support your vision. Remember a belief is nothing more than an idea you have rehearsed in your mind. And these ideas can be changed to support your goal. Dr. Bruce Lipton’s book, “The Biology of Belief” is a brilliant discussion on how our thoughts create our reality.
- Whenever you feel yourself coming up against resistance to a solution or are hitting a roadblock, go for a walk or put your attention, at least for the time being, on something else. It will break the momentum of the resistance.
- The most effective way to pivot if you are facing resistance or doubt is to show gratitude. Regularly feeling gratitude can literally rewire your brain. Include listing things you can be grateful for as part of your morning ritual.
- Get advice from people who have achieved similar things. If it is a totally novel idea, then talk to people who have achieved success in the same field.
- Create reminders of that vision all over your present reality. This could be a vision board, a journal, or entries on your calendar indicating milestones achieved towards that goal.
- Be open to how solutions will show up that you would never have imagined. Have a plan, walk towards that plan but keep an open mind and be receptive. Your goals don’t have to change but your process may need tweaking. Be ready for miracles to show up.
Although I coach people on money and their mindset, I go through periods of self-doubt. But I realize it takes just as much energy not to believe as it does to believe.
When I sense myself on a trajectory of self-doubt, I have to stop myself and pivot to different energy — one of openness, less resistance, and more receptive to miracles. It takes mindfulness, and mindfulness takes practice.
What solution are you looking for? Or what dreams do you have for your life? Can you decide to believe in the magic of your desires? Take the necessary steps to show that belief and watch what happens.
