Abstract

of us love to learn and to share what we learn with others, and we see Medium as an extension of that too. So far, I have mainly focused my articles on writing and personal finance. Nevertheless, I would love to branch out to other subjects as well sometime soon. (*Maybe I’ll even write something in Spanish if people don’t mind)</p><h2 id="7a27">What I’m doing here</h2><p id="760a">I just created a publication called, “<a href="https://medium.com/everyday-finance">Everyday Finance</a>,” where I am hoping to post articles that can help others learn the basics of personal finance. As I am just getting started with that publication, I haven’t started accepting other writers, but I probably will do that pretty soon.</p><p id="698e">In the meantime, I hope that I can bring a bit of value and entertainment to others, just as they have to me. Hello Everyone!

Who I am

I’m Brett. Well, actually my full name is Brett Jorge Millán Moe. I was born and raised in Mexico City, but I moved to Texas right before getting into high school.

My first language, I guess you would call it my native language, is Spanish. Because of that, I would have never imagined I would end up becoming an English professor at a community college. In fact, languages and writing were never really my interest until after I finished my undergraduate degree in Anthropology.

What I like

As you can see from my picture, I focused on archaeology as an undergrad. I like this picture because it shows just how small we really are compared to the world around us. Here I am standing on a Huaca (i.e. Peruvian pyramid) in the northern coast of Peru. I was asked to stand there to show scale because I was almost exactly six feet tall at the time.

Over the years, I have enjoyed continuous learning along with my wife, Rebecca. I wrote an article about that too in case it piques your interest.
