Hey, Travellers! Read This Before You Book Your Premium Economy Ticket
I flew Premium Economy on EVA Airways and here’s what you can expect.

I flew Premium Economy on EVA Airways from Toronto to Taipei (Boeing 777–300ER) and here’s a full rundown of what you can expect!
I’ve always had great flights on EVA Air and this was no exception. The ticket cost about $3400 and it was well worth it for me. For this flight, I was also able to exchange Infinity MileageLands points and upgrade two flight segments to Business Class. If you haven’t heard of this, Infinity MileageLands is EVA Air’s Frequent Flyer Program. Similar to other programs, you collect points to redeem flights. I’m so glad I had enough points for the long-haul flight!
Now, if you’ve noticed my sporadic activity this month, it’s because I was in Malaysia! I flew from Toronto to Taipei, then from Taipei to Kuala Lumpur.
For this story, I’ll be outlining all the details of my Premium Economy flight from Toronto to Taipei!
If you’re considering Premium Economy, keep reading for all the juicy details.
Toronto Pearson Airport and the Plaza Premium Lounge
At Toronto Pearson Airport, not a single creature was stirring. It was super quiet since we were there after midnight for our red-eye flight. As a Silver card member with Eva Airway’s frequent flyer program, we had access to the Plaza Premium Lounge. It’s a nice place to spend a little bit of time before boarding.

The Premium Economy Cabin
It’s time to board! As passengers were settling in, I took a photo. Here’s the inside of the cabin. They have a 2–4–2 seat formation. Of course, I’ll always choose the seats on the side! The Premium Economy seats are a little more spacious than Economy class. There’s more legroom, with a nice footrest for added comfort.

Amenity Kit
For this flight, they gave out an amenity kit. Who doesn’t like these?! I love them! It’s always so exciting. This was a Kipling bag.

Dinner Time!
Shortly after boarding, you’ll get a little snack. These are little rice crackers and I absolutely love them! They used to give us paper menus to choose our meals, but now the meal selections can be found on the inflight entertainment system instead.

For dinner, I chose the Linguine. It was delicious! If you’ve read my previous story, you’ll know that I love airplane food for some reason. I actually didn’t like the Smoked Salmon with Cranberry Quinoa Salad though. Everything else was great. I also got a photo of the Stir Fried Pork dish.

P.S. I highly recommend the Calpis Water. I’m addicted to it!
Time For Bed
After they serve dinner, they dim the lights and it’s time for bed. If you haven’t flown a red-eye before, you can also consider checking my story on “How To Get Ready For Bed for a Red-Eye Flight”.
If you’re lucky enough and sleep for a few hours, you can enjoy a movie or two. They usually dim the lights until it’s breakfast though. The seats also recline quite far back. I am small, so I can curl up on the seat to sleep!
Good morning! It’s time to eat again. Here are the breakfast options! Are you in the mood for Chinese or Western Style? I had the Western style! The croissant was hot and delicious!

Would I Recommend It?
For a long haul flight, I think the comfort and experience is worth the money. I always hate to get to my destination, too exhausted to do anything! I would definitely recommend paying for Premium Economy if it’s within your means. Make sure to join their frequent flyer program, so you can redeem upgrades too!
What Did I Enjoy On This Flight?
- The service was really good.
- I enjoyed all the food selections.
- The washroom was clean.
- The seats were comfortable, with lots of leg room.
- The flight attendants give out refreshing wet towels very often.
- The movie selections were good. They had Top Gun, Maverick!
Was There Anything Bad About The Flight?
I can’t think of anything I didn’t enjoy on the flight. Everything from the check-in process to the arrival process was smooth and comfortable. The line-ups weren’t even that bad.
I didn’t try everything on the flight, like the paid wi-fi, so I can’t comment on that. However, I did like the entire experience and would recommend it if you’re flying long-haul. If you’re thinking about booking Premium Economy, I hope this helps you out.
