More shadowy hands emerge from the cave’s wall, this time swarming over Alaric’s body.
Lorenzo tilts his head — ever so slightly — as he studies Alaric.
The iron chains rattle from the chaos, and a flash bang of purple light explodes. When the brightness subsides, you’re lying on the floor beside Alaric.
“Get out of my sight.” His icy glare shifts to you. “We leave at once.”
Lorenzo whirls around, exiting the cave.
Alaric’s hand is steady as he reaches down and helps you up from the floor.
“Thanks,” Alaric says.
“For what?”
He smiles. “For proving that heroes still exist.”
