Fearless warriors who fight for truth, Not deterred by an overwhelming opposition.

Adversity faced, for fighting for what they believe in, I find their efforts to be a source of inspiration.

When you believe in a cause, much bigger than the self, And you’re willing to sacrifice everything for your conviction.

I find it quite noble, A dignified act of benevolence.

So many heroes today and from histories archives Have fought the good fight, Motivating a younger generation.

Many are unsung, seldom discussed even, I’ll dedicate this piece to one of these heroes.

Sahrawi human rights leader, Aminatou Haidar. From the lands of desert tribes in the Western Sahara, She’s led a peaceful campaign resisting an occupation, For decades she has suffered for her humanitarian protestations.

Been tortured and sent to prison But her faith still remains, Numerable hunger strikes marks her peaceful revolution.

She and many others who believe in change and justice Are the figures who’ve inspired, the ones I look up to.

Thank you for reading, and a very big thank you to Lucy (the egg girl) for including me in this prompt.
