3 Poetry Prompts from This Week

Need inspiration?

This week is the first official week that I’ve included poetry prompts in my pieces! My goal is to jog the creativity of my fellow poets, so that we continue challenging ourselves as writers.

There’s something about having a community of others to inspire and empower you in writing that makes writing truly a lot more fun than jotting down a few words in a notebook. (Must be that external accountability?)

So I cannot wait to see what you come up with using the following prompts! Feel free to submit your pieces to The Brain Is A Noodle 🧠🍜!

Black in the Ivory

Write a poem to someone you look up to, who is a role model to you.

Sunken Cost Bias

Think about what you’re hoping to let go or accept this week. Craft your poem around this intention.

A Writer’s City

Scales. Whether it’s about fish scales, music scales, or the old-timey scales used for measuring weight, it’s up to you how to interpret this challenge in your words.

Lucy (The Egg Girl) finally found joy in writing again thanks to the Medium community. She especially wants to thank Aimée Gramblin, Amy Marley, James G Brennan, Hope Coalesce, Imad, INFJ Elder for sharing their work & supporting my journey.

Also, currently retweeting all tweets tagged under #MediumPoetry & #MediumWriters, so don’t be shy to use the tag! Can’t wait to meet other Medium Tweeps!
